Totally agree, its a complete disgrace that we have a Government that would rather purchase a new Yacht than anti ship missiles for our surface fleet. All down to choices at the end of the day.

I don't buy this FCF rubbish. Just an excuse for a cut. I know the US Marines are looking at smaller and more numerous assault units but ours small in the first place.

Re: RN anti-ship missiles
Without any air or ship launched anti ship missiles, will a UK CSBG rely too much on the presence of an SSN? How easy is it for the Commander of the CSBG to tell the SSN commander that an enemy fleet is approaching?

Re: RN anti-ship missiles
All a bit of a fudge for me. The capability for a Type 23 or Type 26 to protect it's self from hostile ships has not gone away, especially if the ship is carrying a Merlin with no anti ship capability. Even with a Wildcat embarked this is a major risk as I assume its primary role will be to attack S...

Heres's a question for all the armchair Generals...which British Army unit(s) would you deploy to assist if the Ukraine was invaded by Russia? Something Heavy with a bit of punch, or something more Light which can be pulled out more easily.

Moved over here from the type 83 thread So for me the biggest problem the UK have is nothing is allowed to full fill its potential for fear it will affect another program like The River B2 can't be fitted a 57mm , 2 x 20mm for fear it will be nearly as capable as a base line T-31 The T-31 can't be ...
