Re: Type 31 Frigate (Inspiration Class) [News Only]

NSM needs to be fitted urgently, on the Royal Danish Navy's Frigates to replace Harpoon, the RN must be looking where to fit NSM on Type 31, hopefully in a box set admidship?

Apologies for not making this clearer.

Re: Type 45 Destroyer (Daring Class) (RN) [News Only]

https://twitter.com/NavyLookout/status/1751175348153151947 This decision needs to be reversed, to at least the original out of service date of 2043, otherwise we will have only 13 frigates with a 15+ miles Sea Ceptor missiles, without the necessary radar for longer range missiles and the gap in Type...

Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion

Political failure at the highest level, post 1997, which is uncomfortable to the Conservative and Labour parties as well as the Liberal Democrats (the two senior members in the quad) during the 2010 - 2015 coalition, compounded by being ill informed and not being interested in defence, this applies ...

Re: Current & Future Escorts - General Discussion

I have several worries, one that if we have a gap in medium air defence if Type 45 is retired before at least two Type 83 are fully operational and another one is accepted from BAE. Building an extra three Type 26 would mean increasing the size of the Royal Navy total personnel, it would also allow ...

Re: Current & Future Escorts - General Discussion

The three additional ships I mentioned, I should have made clear, in my opinion were Type 26, so we would end up with 11.

Re: Current & Future Escorts - General Discussion

I was told by BAE, a year ago that there was more than a four year gap between the eighth Type 26 and the first type 83, makes sense to build another three frigates, with a medium air defence radar capability added and additional 24 VLS cells added for Aster 30 Block 1, if Type 45 are decommissioned...

Re: RN anti-ship missiles

Eight box launchers, allows eight other missiles type on the Mk. 41's, useful if you have only 32 cells, like tactical Tomahawk Mk.5 (which could be replaced by hypersonic missiles), the rest medium range/anti-ballistic/anti-hypersonic glide surface to air missiles. The later would need upgraded rad...
