Re: European Union Referendum - In or Out?
No need. The EU tell the government what to do. They tell MP's what to do, then finally the Lords get told what to do. And if they don't like it about all they can do is delay things until it gets thrown back at them to try again until the "right" result is obtained. Just like what's going...

Re: European Union Referendum - In or Out?
Ignoring whether it actually is a deal or not (due to the ratification requirement), it does not extract us from the requirement to abide by directives we may not agree with. It does not allow us to curb the migrant worker influx. It does not reduce the net cost of our membership. So to me it is not...

Re: European Union Referendum - In or Out?
What is it with today's "deal"? Does anyone seriously think it is relevant to the in/out question, except maybe Boris Johnson? I just can't see how it will make any difference at all to people's views on the question, whether you tend to in or out. I believe it to be just a propoganda exer...

Re: Army Snipers
Startled and appalled says TW. Quite. Me too. How is it that the RN asks for 2000 additional people in SDSR2015 and only gets 400 when they can drum up 140 for this? I would have 1.4 doing it not 140. They would be entirely sufficient to identify the extremely rare real issues and put everything els...

Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion
For all the arguments about B or C, totally without experience as I am to comment, I will still say from looking at that interesting clip I would feel much more comfortable landing in a B than having to rely on a wire, even using the rolling landing technique.

Re: UK and the European Union. In or Out?
"little real control over international affairs" "Too much bad history and spilled blood" I would agree with pretty much everything you say except that the first point above may come to pass within the EU anyway. Regarding the latter point, I suspect that is the major sticking p...

Re: UK and the European Union. In or Out?
I voted to come out anyway as I would rather be governed by the idiots we send to Westminster than a bunch of mainly foreign unelected bureaucrats. Although I do admit that I'm not entirely sure how the Brussels governance works, which is actually half the problem. If it were totally clear cut that ...
