Re: The war in Ukraine

Forcing Ukraine to yield to some demands of Russians directly means leaving "Western" values at bay whenever very countries "defending" the same values got into trouble due to the responsibilities arising from their daring words.

Re: Turkish Armed Forces

If that is all Turkey wants, to be left to conduct operations against the PKK whilst minimising civilian casualties and allowing humanitarian aid then fair enough. The problem is, these countries do not view PYD (Syrian branch of PKK) as related organization to PKK. PKK in Turkey, PJAK in Iran, PYD...

Re: Turkish Armed Forces

Only thing Turkey asks is : leave PKK related organizations (like SDF) to me and let me continue my operations in Iraq/Syria. That is all. Confederate Kurdish seperatism is what countries with sizeable Kurdish population hate. Unless they fail. (i.e. Iraq/Syria) Westerners who do not understand how ...

Remarkable, TB2 hits Russian Mi-8 upon troop disembark.

Probably this is the first real combat air-to-air score of a UAV in history(?). I guess so.

Very good move for a country which has "no airbases left" and "all of its aircraft been destroyed".

Re: The war in Ukraine

The TB-2 is the AK-47, but I would like to see it perform against a country that has a competent AA net. Thought Russia with its invincible s300/400 that nothing could get past was the tier 1 threat only the super pricey, highest of tech could deal with? Which other enemy’s left? We were told...

And don't forget you have to defend yourself against the other guy trying to do the same to you. UAS like the TB-2 are going to be selling like hot cakes for the next decade or so. TB-2 is the first of its kind, in terms of doctrine and philosophy. Unlike US, 1990s Turkey did not have endless resou...

Re: Franco-German-Spanish FCAS/SCAF Programme News and Discussion

Why these Germans cant produce their own aircraft? Even Turkey dares to design and build one.

Come on. It is a shame on Luftwaffe that neither Marine nor Heer have Arleigh's or M1A2s.

They should use Me-something.

Interesting; what is the nature of the munition carried? Anti-tank, I presume, but what kind. Separately, I still remember the days when Anka (the drone) was going as well as Emus are flying and Israel was called in, to save the day. Would not happen today, but the industry is progressing in leaps ...

When Kemalists are gone, Erdogan had Gülenists at his crosshairs. Because he could not let them run the country. Because Erdogan wanted a strong Turkey leading pan-Turkic, pan-Islamic world. Every revolution eats its children. And (in his mind) rebuilding the Sultanate is clearly the Big idea - bet...

Today, what Israel does is way worse than 90s Turkey, literally seizing properties from Palestinians. Such a crime is directly called a pogrom. As far as I know, until F4E came into service, Turkish Air Force used only AIM9B. Turkish F104Gs and F104S s bought from Italy were all using AIM9 B version.
