Re: Project Mosquito / Lightweight Affordable Novel Combat Aircraft (LANCA)

The key wording in the announcement is 'mutually agreed'.... This means that it wasn't going to work as intended.... We should really be happy that they've stopped a programme for once before it has consumed more funds...its good programme/risk management. Think your reading far too much into that ...

Re: Project Mosquito / Lightweight Affordable Novel Combat Aircraft (LANCA)

I hinted at this in the other thread about that article in the telegraph, decision was made a couple of months ago interesting they choose this evening to release it A good night to bury bad news... To be frank, Mosquito was never the most compelling of ideas or planned out going forward. Seemed li...

Re: Project Mosquito / Lightweight Affordable Novel Combat Aircraft (LANCA)

Wondered how long it would take this to make it into the wild https://twitter.com/geoallison/status/1540435560631881729?s=21&t=TYGjUZUmt-4aMIb0EyhEEg Unless (and I seriously doubt this is the case) the government has a very impressive alternative then this is the abandonment of 20 odd years of ...

Re: RN anti-ship missiles

I am more concerned about the large numbers of supersonic AShMs our potential adversaries have already. NATO to my knowledge has none in this category except for a few SAMs that have an anti-ship secondary capability. We will be lucky to see FCASW enter service before 2030 , and even then I doubt i...

Well …………………. ! The Japanese, South Koreans, Australians, Singaporeans, Indians and New Zealanders (in addition to the U.S.A.) seem to think that we are RELEVANT. Or perhaps you are making a (rather poor) case for US Isolationism (on the back of your proposition). Well I would expect all th...

The pacific tilt …… https://amp.lbc.co.uk/news/british-soldiers-ready-fight-russia-world-war-3/ The new head of the British Army's told his troops they must prepare to fight the Russian army in a potential World War Three... Re: Future UK Combat Aircraft (Project Tempest)

Interesting view point is one way to put it. Have to say it’s one of the worst articles I’ve read. according to the article Pilots are the critical part as there getting shot dwn yet the answer is more manned aircraft. Old Ukrainian aircraft and simple unmanned systems have proven resilient yet the ...

Re: NEDERLANDS

Personally I would prefer another eight to twelve A400s. This has a lot more to offer if its capabilities are continually expanded, something the Germans and French seem much more interested in doing and far faster then the RAF. I think the issue is that we need UK to have a variety of transport ai...

Re: UK Mobile Fires Platform

I would still like to see MRV(P) and Boxer Brimstone launcher system with this being upgraded to Spear latter this should be more than possible now given we have got a system up and running for Ukraine Would agree there has been a 6 cell launcher shown in the past for ugv and 4x4s. Would very much ...

Re: UK Mobile Fires Platform

I don’t get that argument tbh it maybe right up against the c130 weight limit but you could potentially get 2 in an a400m or take one and deploy it a long way which may have more strategic benefit to the U.K. if you can have vehicles that aren’t pushing up against the limits of the aircraft it gives...

Re: Boxer / Mechanised Infantry Vehicle (MIV)

If you were going that route would u not continue to procure wheeled boxer to stand up an entire brigade structure as all variants are available then as things go on you add tracked drive modules if or when required to a point you had sufficient drive modules to choose the appropriate configuration ...

Here for your pleasure is Rheinmetall's promo video for its brand new KF-51 Main Battle Tank, named the Panther! IT has a 130mm gun to start with as well as the latest systems available to Rheinmetall. Now how about 120 of these to equip out two remaining Armoured Regiments moving forward? https://...
