Re: Current & Future Amphibious Capability - General Discussion
And this is my point LCX dose not move the dial they are to small to carry out the tasks you have listed I don’t agree with that but where I do agree is that the size of the replacements shouldn’t be dictated by the dimensions of the LCVP and LCU. Much depends on the Archer replacements and the fut...

Re: Type 31 Frigate (Inspiration Class) [News Only]
I also wonder how well a Type 31 would have done in shooting down an incoming ballistic missile (see latest RN news). I also wonder how it has now become acceptable to fire ballistic missiles at commercial vessels and the only thing that is discussed is the success of shooting it down. It’s difficu...

Re: Royal Artillery/Royal Horse Artillery future developments
I find odd we are putting our gun platform on wheels and our missile platform on tracks. You would think it should be either the other way round or all on wheels Yeah it makes zero sense except someone.got cheque book fever when M270A2 entered the chat. And just to complete the set. The air defence...

I was thinking however about any Norway deal and how the RN could win so here is my thinking Norway commit to 5 ships meaning the build plan goes to 10 ships the RN agrees to giving up ships to Norway as long as they get 6 for the price of 5 from a build plan of 14 ships Norway would get ships 3,5,...

The Israeli harop used in armenia and Iranian shahed 136 that Russia are using in Ukraine all have that range and are launched 5 per shipping container I think.

If I were Typhoon Senior I'd be claiming paternity on the basis of that central intake alone! (Plus the tail and bubble canopy are not that dissimilar) Related question - is there any reason the Batch 1s aren't being gathered up and offered to Ukraine for a pound? A very good point and question... ...

Not entirely sure the cam wrap suits typhoon I quite like it. Re: Falkland Islands (British Overseas Territory)
Exactly how i see it ! nowt to worry about military speaking, just keep the tiffy flight there to deter any possible harasment I would worry less if we had a couple more aircraft deployed there. If tensions were to ever rise then 4 fighters would be way too few to do a 2 man CAP on 24/7 basis. Also...

Re: Current & Future Escorts - General Discussion
Agree 100% with both posts with the exception of last part re FFBNW. FFBNW was acceptable during period of peace. But with Global tensions rising thanks to Russia, China, Iran and North Korea, together with proxy states, we can no longer risk it to the previous extent. Building one additional of bo...

Re: Current & Future Escorts - General Discussion
In very high end situations why not use type 31 as a missile barge? If they do end up fitting mk41 at some point fill it with sm3. If it’s within a task group a type 45 or a usn destroyer can do the tracking and sensing. Or if it’s around nato/uk territories let the assure systems do the hard bit. ...

...Thanks, so your proposal is to make an expensive AAW version of T31. Integrating SeaViper system into TACTICOS CMS will cost a lot. Adding the required CMS analyses power will cost a lot. And, integrating Aster-30 missile into Mk41 VLS will cost (or your proposal is to locate Sylver A50 VLS in p...
