Re: Current & Future Escorts - General Discussion
Why is this thread full of completely off topic MCMV chat there is a thread for that.
Good question. I've deleted the MCMV posts. Please keep this topic focused on escorts.
Why delete and not move? In any case it’s not a binary discussion, escorts are now platforms for off board systems ...

As said on the Amphib thread the only hope of getting MRSS in 2033 is to build them in Rosyth it is now clear that this should be the way forward
Let’s see, latest is that we should have a MRSS concept by the middle of this year ahead of then a design period, contract negotiations etc. Even ...

Re: Current & Future Escorts - General Discussion
My vote - build six City Class MCMs under licence to replace the RB1s/Hunts and meet the LSV requirement between late 2020s and mid 2030s. In parallel kick of a design project for a future LUSV programme. This would build some of use both short and longer term, and keep a second yard alive and ...

Re: River Class (OPV) (RN)

Well if they are earmarking one for Kipion, another for FRE and with reduced availability with the additional maintenance required for the wishlist and shortage of crew, then it ...

Re: Current & Future Escorts - General Discussion
Has a lot of merit, but cannot see how RN ships based in the Black Sea would work due to the Montreux Convention, though the author seems convinced. Surely it would be better for Romania and Ukraine navy flagged ships to operate, with RN support (even part RN crews). Think we’ve found where ...

Re: General UK Defence Discussion
Using six T83 for BMD would be a complete waste of resources.
As part of an integrated defence it makes perfect sense.
It means combining what would be an always available BMD capability if it was on land with the Service availability of ships.
