Re: Current & Future Escorts - General Discussion

Why accept this position as given? Other yards building modules, hell with support could even build complete T26s under licence. Equally T83s can be built by multiple yards. What yards could build a complete T26 under license in the UK? Babcock - Possible. In theory but would two direct competitors...

None of those choices have been made or at least informed by senior NHS executives like former Chief Exec of NHS England Sir Simon Stevens and his cadre?

Have you looked at the rest of the Shrewsbury and Telford Trust its a dumpster fire and it isn't the only trust like it either in NHS England as for Scotland and Wales, well. You are in complete denial. Denial of what exactly? Because I'm all for pointing out the failings of the NHS, fire away by a...

PS still think that debugging a system on a deployed warship isn't the smartest idea around. After all, that was the approach taken with the Type 45 propulsion system. Saved oodles on money not testing it out onshore first. (Buff)Hoon must be very proud  Type 45 propulsion system was tested o...

Re: Current & Future Escorts - General Discussion

This isn't the topic to discuss the Type 31. Posts deleted. Fair enough, though it was in the context of T26 numbers, and a desire from some to fill in any gap to sell to Norway with cheap T31s. I guess I will have to wait once more for someone to explain what is the priority requirement for GP fri...

You are having a laugh, aren't you? No, but obviously you are. Why is it people roll our the personal (no, second hand) anecdotes when shown the facts. And yet they are complicit in the alleged wrong doing, or it's clearly a pile of nonsense. The NHS is one of the most highly audited organisations ...

Shock horror what about some SM6 to go in the Mk41 VLS rather than Aster which don't.* You want to add SM6 to the T31 at almost $5m a missile? Seems unlikely. Not specifically T31, T26 too if we want hypersonic and ballistic on them. What would be cheaper buying from Raytheon or getting MBDA France...

….If it is mini-sub in Persian Gulf, how about several dozens of slowish UUVs and USVs with active VDS + TASS, with Sat-Com? If it is in a confined water, emerging UUV/USV technology is a bigger threat against submarine much more than a surface vessel. Sounds like a larger deployment than even a T3...

The whole thing is structured incorrectly. Look at the link you posted, take Australia and UK, looking at OECD figures Aus is spending 16% more on healthcare per head than we are. So more but not an unreasonable difference, about $879 per head. They have 424% more MRIs and CT machines than the NHS,...

Ok lets go with your view that the NHS is the best thing since sliced bread and can do no wrong and any issues it does have would magically disappear with a bit more cash. How much more money does it need? £5bn\year, £10bn\year, £100bn\year? I've said nothing of the sort. You clearly believe that t...

Re: Labour's likely defence policy

I have but you clearly don't understand it. The link you posted shows the spending in 'real terms' i.e. inflation is accounted for. It confirms on average NHS spending has increased 3.6% a year after inflation. That's after economic inflation (as basket of goods), that's not the inflation that the ...
