I will be shocked if the UK doesn't go HIMARS. It seems very British to have such an expeditionary capability.

Cool Leo 2's for Ukraine from Spain.
So the last 2 weeks we got HIMARS, MLRS, armed drones, Western AA systems, MBT.
Now all that's left is to train Ukraine on Western jets.

Ah the NGSW, one of the dumbest programs the USA has right now. The navy is basically half broken.

All warfare is based on deception is something the Ukrainians are apparently masters at.

Re: The war in Ukraine
UK couldn't send MLRS before US agreed it (ITAR regs) But they did send NLAWs early, and Starstreak (much faster than Stingers). They were the first to send anti-ship missiles (still unspecified type). They also sent Brimstone and have reportedly had special forces in country training Ukranian army...

"All I can say you can’t be more proud how the U.K. and those we have sent have stepped up in support not only of Ukraine but of the Eastern European states we have stood by. It’s a stain on the political elite across all the west that Ukraine has had to endure this at all" Can't disagree...

Sholtz has been dealt a very poor hand. Nothing he can do about Merkel and Von Der Leyen's many failures. He has, however, made some partial corrections for those failings - substantive elevations of defence spending and announcements to reduce dependence on Russian oil and gas, for example. Even w...

Re: The war in Ukraine
Better yet you tell me a weapon system that the UK led the USA on and I'll shut up for good. The decision to send 2,000+ NLAW in the weeks before the invasion sort of counts. Not the type but the quantity. Yes the US was already sending more sophisticated Javelins but so far as I know (may well be ...

Re: The war in Ukraine
Sholtz has been dealt a very poor hand. You talk as if Scholtz had no part in the decision-making. He has been part of Merkel's government since 2007 (Vice Chancellor since 2018). He has been fully involved in German policy towards Russia for many years. As for German assistance for Ukraine, what h...

Re: The war in Ukraine
People have issues with Germany because they have set themselves up as the leaders of Europe with the economy to match in many peoples eyes. What many people do not know is the terrible state the Bundeswehr is in as will be for at least the next decade. As for Leopards and Marders, I think this has...

Re: The war in Ukraine
The Germans haven't been that bad really. Just really bad PR and speaking. Factually, no one has given Western MBT's or IFV's, an no one sends stuff ahead of the USA. The German army is broken completely, not Scholz fault, but Merkel. He's under a huge amount of economic pressure over gas, also not...

One way to look at it is naval combat.
WW2 we still had gunner teams meant to sink ships.
Now its missiles vs missiles defense.

Re: RBSL Challenger 3 (Future) Main Battle Tank (British Army)
The armour on even the latest Russian Tanks does not really compare to the latest composite armour that will be fitted to the Challenger 3 together with its add on applique armour package. And an APS and a fire direction sensor and any ATGW team could be in a world of hurt. Even looking at the Chal...

Re: RBSL Challenger 3 (Future) Main Battle Tank (British Army)
I do think MBT tanks are done for. The bigger cannon and ever increasing armor is basically a lost proposition against ATGMs and APS. Is that based on the first month of the war in Ukraine with the battle for Kiev? Or based on the last month of the war in Ukraine with the battle for Donbass? It's b...

A drone vehicle IFV with a 50mm and Spike is what I want working alone side SPA.
