Each country is responsible for supplying parts for every aircraft, for example BAE supply the canards for every Typhoon (and loads more).

There are 4 final assembly lines, one for each of the partner countries, that will handle its own aircraft, and any export sales that country secures.

Any additional order is good for UK industry, and keeping the Typhoon supply chain healthy.

I think all assembly plants are still open, but the Germans and Spanish must be close to finished by now, Spain are building one every three months to try and stretch things out! UK and Italian plants are pretty healthy for the next 5 years with both internal and external orders to fulfill.

At some point they will have to consolidate down to a single assembly plant to keep production open for as long as possible.

I doubt it is related, the qataris are paying for this then they'll want what they've paid for.

I doubt the eighth sqn will happen but Qatar have been splashing the cash recently, so who knows.

Bahrain chooses F16 block 70 (16 airframes), over Typhoon, in a $2.3 billion dollar deal.

Interestingly: "A Eurofighter spokesperson noted that, based on current orders, the typhoon will continue to be delivered until 2024" which presumably means that the recent Qatar order will keep the UK production line running until about 2023???
