Very nice images. I've always likes the looks of the T45, that silhouette shot shows it off very well.

(RN)
Royal Navy warship HMS Dragon has fired a 17-gun salute to hail the First Sea Lord’s presence in Portsmouth.

The Type 45 destroyer roared into her home port as she returned from a series of exercises off the South West coast and off the coast of Scotland.

The number of guns fired designates the seniority of the recipient – in this case Admiral Sir Philip Jones, the Head of the Royal Navy. Her Majesty the Queen would receive 19.

Wait, wouldn't the Queen recieve 21-gun salute, not 19?
Fortune favors brave sir, said Carrot cheerfully.
What's her position about heavily armed, well prepared and overmanned armies?
Oh, noone's ever heard of Fortune favoring them, sir.
According to General Tacticus, it's because they favor themselves…

Looks like you're right, it would be 21. I got the 19 number from the link in the tweet which I quoted.

Don't be facetious, please, especially after one such post that was moreso has already been deleted. It is related to the above article in clarifying things to people, and was still related to the matter at hand.

Well it is a saluting gun, so at least we know one weapons works......

Maybe a topic for the Type31 too, since I believe ships classified as Frigates are considered to be 'saluting ships', but other warships below that classification have to seek case by case permission. Vital stuff.

All six T45's are now out of action. These BAE T45's should be renamed the 'Lemon' class...

No opportunity must be missed to slag off one of the UK's most important companies.

I don't ever recall being instructed to swear a national pledge of allegiance to a privately owned multi-national company that manufactures and supplys overpriced weapons platforms to a monopolised UK marketplace before.

Prove your claims or shut up.

No pride in your own country or your countries companies is pretty typical these days. Pathetic.
