No - and likewise it wouldn't be better if only people who HAD served/worked for the MoD were on here.
On group has experience of how things really work and the other is not caught "in the silo"
I agree we need all groups but what we need is those who are serving now to feed in more of the day to day problems in a clear and helpful way rather than rather than making narky commits. I understand it is hard sometimes when they think people don't want to hear about the hard work and facts they face right now
Interesting, about what specifically do you think would be helpful ? In terms of day to day.
So to keep on track people talk about how many F-35 should be deployed to the carrier but those in the know might say that can't happen due to say lack of X or Y or that it will impact badly on working up the F-35 force as a whole. Maybe people who joined the RAF don't want to be posted to the F-35 force as they didn't join the RAF to go to sea for months on end
I know from my time the effect Afgan had on both the Tonker and Apache forces the constant training and det cycle on small forces and their families made worse for the Tonker units by the ongoing need to feed Akrotiri dets as well. It took the Apache Sqn's some time to adjust after as they found they had lost some of skills needed to fight in the forests of Europe
After a bit of pushing Jimthelad gave a great post on the real terms use of anti tank weapons
