Yes I know the C17 is the platform of choice for CCSAT but one of Voyagers roles is Aeromed so has this been exercised? You can't always rely on getting the Aircraft of choice.

Voyager has no cargo doors on the main deck, but it isn't an issue for loading Aeromeds. Voyager flew plenty out of the 'Stan.

Will Mrs May be using....er May force one? for her trip to the G20
Re: Airbus A330 Voyager (MRTT) (RAF)
Undoubtably. You don't go spending millions on a high profile official government plane, then go charter a BA flight instead.JayDee wrote:Will Mrs May be using....er May force one? for her trip to the G20

Ther-easy Jet leaves for G20.... 23 minutes late!
Apparently, Bank Of England governor Mark Carney got stuck in traffic and had to be fetched and police escorted to the airport which delayed the takeoff of Ther-easy Jet by 23 minutes!

The Voyager has now reached Full Operational Capability. The article also states the possibility of some Voyagers being fitted with a probe and also some of the new A400 being equipped for refuelling in far off places such as the Falklands.

Option was always there, I believe.
Just a matter of the cash required to do it through the contract. Companies are more than happy to "break contract" so long as the payment gets brought in for its "penalty".

Nope, cant refuel each other, It wouldn't look right on a commercial jet.

An idea to put to Trump: "I hear that you are having trouble with the new Air Force One design - why don't you just have a tanker converted, like I did"
- oh, wait! The tanker design is also in trouble. Hmmm...

Ever-lasting truths: Multi-year budgets/ planning by necessity have to address the painful questions; more often than not the Either-Or prevails over Both-And.

Interesting timing for a trip to Turkey. Is she trying to put the squeeze on the EU or wind them up? Or both?Defiance wrote:Interesting, will be curious to see what comes of it, hopefully promising news.
