Have they de-commissioned Sau Paulo (Foch) or will they be running on the two?

Sao Paulo will be decommissioned soon. She actually had never been active, as I understand.

It is a shame Brazil could not make Sau Paulo work out, such a nice little carrier, would of been good to see the Sea gripen flying of the deck

But ex ocean is a lot cheaper to run and will serve them well...until they make up there minds weather to have a fixed wing carrier again :shh:

Brazil will addopt a new CIWS in the Phalanx positions. The oerlikon millennium 35 mm naval revolver gun.

She was active for many years, but the price to make the Overhaul was too expensive. A new carrier will take São Paulo place in the next decade.

The H225M Super Cougar have folding rotors. The Super pumas have rotors and tails, but they are being decommissioned. some of New Super Cougar/Caracal are equipped with the exocet missile

An interesting thing that will see in the A140 will be the operation with the Brazilian air force Mil-mi 35.

Did the UK sell it with the LCVP? Or did Brazil already have them?

A fine looking ship, even in Brazilian colours, looking foward to seeing a HMS Ocean 2 flying the white ensign!

In deck is only rain. in the ship's hull is because she is operating on the Brazilian coast for several days

Thx Brasil, these photos showed where the Bofors 40mm guns have been located
- only 2 of them? leaves zones that are not covered

Is there not a third one on the rear of the flight deck? I also think they are 30mm.

A good spot.

The UK 2012 refit included
"Defensive upgrades include the new Type 997 “Artisan” Medium Range Radar system; 4 automated 30mm cannons and 20 km of accompanying power and control cabling to replace existing 20mm manned guns, and complement the ship’s 3 MK15 Phalanx advanced 20mm close-in weapon systems"
and as the three Phalanxes were not sold along with the ship, I would be inclined to say that they are Bofors 40mm guns, which Brazil uses to such an extent that they are built in Brazil (from parts, supplied by BAE Bofors?)
- someone with a good resolution screen can zoom up?

They are the original 30mm DS30M Mk2. The same mounted on our Amazonas class (based on your River class)

Two in te front sides, one in the back up the deck and other in the left on the back that you can see in the 00:19 sec of this video.
