First post!

Really a ship that will still serve for many years. Let's take good care of her.

Today landings began on the coast of Rio de Janeiro.
Day 25 she will take over as our flagship. There will be a naval parade on the coast of rio de janeiro.

Here the first landings:

And here exclusive and detailed photos of the interior (I think even in the Royal Navy, had no pictures of these parts)

Hi Brazil! Now do something really interesting with her- sponsoned out deck park and a ski jump!

Always wanted to post "Hi Brazil":

Brasil, also known as Hy-Brasil or several other variants,[2] is a phantom island said to lie in the Atlantic Ocean[3] west of Ireland. Irish myths described it as cloaked in mist except for one day every seven years, when it becomes visible but still cannot be reached.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brasil_(mythical_island)

Its the place RN designs go to reach their full potential (:

Fascinating! maybe this is the origin of my country's name! According to our history it would be for the Brazilian wood withdrawn by portugal. The wood called "Pau Brasil"

Good to see her used instead of being shipped off to Turkey for scrap.

Interesting placement of the rear gun. Ocean didn't have a gun mounted there before? Wonder why they didn't use the positions formally used by the Phalanx?

The second ship in line of the following escort of three, looks like a T22. Don't recognise the 1st in line and the 3rd I can't zoom in enough. Great to see.

Interesting , and a really impressive turn around from RN decommissioning and return to service under the Brazilian flag - under twelve months? Well done them! What are the landing craft hanging from her davits, their own type or did they buy her LCVP ? Ocean will always be my all time favorite RN ship of modern times, and I even got to live aboard for a while during Op 'Olympics', as for many others she was perfect for that role. Good to see her having a second life and I bet they run her on for a good twenty plus years or more. Bravo Zulu Brazil - and more fool us.

Not sure disbanding Ocean is foolish, because having 2 CVF is very ambitious. RN is simply paying for it.

Interesting Brazil was so decisive and fast. Sao Paulo (Ex-Foch) is a light carrier, but HMS Ocean is a LPH = a helicopter carrier. Very different. Maybe the air strike role was just "nice to have" for them, and cost did not allowed them to enjoy such luxury.
