That does work to an extent, but the thing that really messes with your mind (and its the same with the T45) is the size of the bridge windows and Flyco. They really do have enormous amounts of glazing compared to other vessels, it completely throws your eye off as a result.

Totally agree about the windows. Especially true for the 45's. Makes them seem much smaller than they are.
I have done the thumb thing many times too. Lol.

I don’t know I quite like the unique look of the 2 islands but do think it’d of looked a bit better if they were slightly longer giving more space between and in front of the forward island

No lol but just purely from an aesthetics point of view I think a extra 20m-30m say 10 in front of the forward island and the rest mid ship would look nicer

Superb. ... just brilliant. Cheers.
You really can appreciate just how big she is when you take away the island and ramp.
It all about perspective. Two islands make her look short and the ramp does nothing to help matters. Throw in the oversize bridge windows and she looks so much smaller than she is.
All that aside...still an impressive ship. I am glad we have two of these rather than one nuke we could barely afford.
My favourite views of her are from water level dead ahead - think leaving Gib - and starboard side three quarter stern .

The BBC are reporting that it wasn't exactly a couple of trips. They mentioned thousands of miles....elsewhere others have mentioned that he had been warned previously.

Still doesn't explain the removal from QE by helicopter (which is a PR blunder, even if the helicopter was on a routine mission and just stopped by for convenience). Surely a boat transfer would have been more appropriate, even if he was needed to be aboard as it was pulled from the dock into the Forth.

Single Island Starboard side looks pretty awesome. Not so difficult to imagine how it might have looked without the Downtakes/Uptakes "Stack" now. Even more awesome. All the extra deck parking that would have become available. In a CATOBAR configuration, relocation of the "Bow Catapult to Starboard would then have been possible, permitting "Continuous" Launching & Landing rather than just "Cyclic" Flight Deck operation.

Oh well, back to reality. Must cast my vote!

I'm asking this because Brazil has selected the Artisan for its new frigates, i would like to know the peculiarities of this radar.

Greetings
Artisan is an AESA radar.
Oh thank you for the information
So its a rotatory AESA? I have not been able to see anything official stating Artisan 3D is AESA.
It's easy to see stuff seeing otherwise, indeed I used to think it wasn't too, till some folks on here dug out some more official technical docs.

I don't have them on me (at work) but maybe someone has them to hand?
It would be great if someone could provide such documents

Make a good offer with a good financing for Brazil. No doubt we need a substitute for the A-12 São Paulo who was retired. I believe Sea Gripen is the first option of the Brazilian Navy. But with the new president aligned with the United States, anything can happen.F-35 or F-18 can be prioritized.

According to the Daily Telegraph the Captain Nick was allowing his wife to use the ships car whilst the QE was at sea, and she used it for shopping, school runs etc. The Daily Telegraph claims it was members of the crew who shopped him, and that's why he was removed from the ship. Obviously the cars mileage log was doctored as to who was driving the car. Disciplinary action could still happen as well.

It seems HMS QE is due in Pompey around 17:30 tomorrow, might well pop down to see her as the view from the Porchester A27 shore road has been quite bereft without her on my ride in to work these past weeks!
