There's a "spare" corner sponson on the stern for starters...

Can't remember, but are they using the opportunity to do further tests at sea? Are they out for a long period then dry dock at Rosyth, or is it a straight transit up there?

How far is deck penetration for the Camm system and is the space underneath already used , the naval builders may have already built in this contingency somewhere hopefully

I wonder if it would be a vertical launch type of system, might be more a like Sea Ram type box on each weapon sponson, this would save taking up deck space. I don't know if maybe Sea Ceptor are too long for such a thing or if the soft launch system work firing it at 45 degrees.

You can basically bolt on a ExLS anywhere, it is weather proofed already so as long as there is clearance for the missile on launch it can go anywhere and can even stand above the deck with next to no penetration.

Dry docking still planned for summer last I heard so I guess we’ll have to watch this space

Doesn’t say that she’s off to Rosyth straight away but you never know, it may have been brought forward

I think 2 x three cells = 24 CAMM would be enough lets not forget the CAMM and Phalanx are there to mop up anything that gets past the Escorts

As she has only got to 2 Phalanx Perhaps she is going to get CAMM in Rosyth…….only joking ! watch out for the April fools posts though...

Does this mean they are going to move POW out before QE goes in ? either way it will be good to see them together

Even a fourth Phalanx would be a great improvement.
Fortune favors brave sir, said Carrot cheerfully.
What's her position about heavily armed, well prepared and overmanned armies?
Oh, noone's ever heard of Fortune favoring them, sir.
According to General Tacticus, it's because they favor themselves…

It's official, QE-class carriers will get CAMM as soon as possible.

QE's AIS was switched off at midday, south of the Nab Tower. So can't tell if she's going west coast/Irish Sea or east coast/North Sea route.

And we have two

If we can get the escorts sorted now and hold on to the Amphibs it will all be worth it in the end......as long as the F35b's turn up as planned.

Some newly uploaded videos of QE's departure earlier today:

Above "Rat Island" (Burrow Island), Gosport. Is this legal?

Above "Turk Town" (Gosport). Seriously, is this legal?!

Let me ask something: Why did the RN choose te Artisan 3D instead of an AESA radar?
I'm asking this because Brazil has selected the Artisan for its new frigates, i would like to know the peculiarities of this radar.

Greetings

Oh thank you for the information
So its a rotatory AESA? I have not been able to see anything official stating Artisan 3D is AESA.

It's easy to see stuff seeing otherwise, indeed I used to think it wasn't too, till some folks on here dug out some more official technical docs.

I don't have them on me (at work) but maybe someone has them to hand?

Is that an air to air refuelling probe I can see as well? It doesn't look quite right, nor in the right place. So what is it?
