and you'll notice the Tide Class have 2 RAS rigs on their starboard side only, to line up with the 2 fuel caps on QE's port side.

Oh very well done CameronPerson. :D

First hour of the video is mostly dancing and bands.
1:01:10 - Prince Charles & Camilla's car arrives.
1:04:45 - Introduction & Welcome Speech by Simon Lister, ACA's MD.
1:07:00 - Battleship HMS Prince Of Wales history video.
1:19:30 - Helicopter flypast and speech by the First Sea Lord Admiral Sir Philip Jones.
1:40:40 - Camilla's speech (which she messes up at the end and implies God will serve the ship!)
1:44:20 - Naming and whisky bottle breaking.
1:52:00 - RN Hawk and Sea Fury flypast.
1:55:15 - Hip hip hooray's and National Anthem.

Boat trip to the dockyard today in Plymouth. 3 Type 23's all with Artisan, HMS Scott, HMS Bulwark and 2 Trafalgars. However tour guide said that Bulwark might be sold to Brazil and Plymouth may not host ships anymore. I queried Bulwark sale and said Ocean instead but the boy seemed to know what he was talking about, if true and I doubt it f***ing sad.

Funnily enough there's currently a stand at the DSEI event at the Excel centre today where interested parties can express interest in buying her..

7 spots; is she being advertised with the maximum? Most look like Apaches... a smaller foot print?

ACA have sneakily edited out Camilla's mistake in the full length ceremony video! But it still exists in the highlights video at 3:19

3:19
Camilla: "I name this ship, the Prince Of Wales. May God serve her.... God bless her and all who sail in her."

1:44:20
In the full length (edited) version, she says: "I name this ship, the Prince Of Wales. May (edit) God bless her and all who sail in her."

Cheers

Without listening to it seems she just stumbled on her words, not a big deal. I don't watch those clips for the speeches just o have a look at the toys on show.

The mistake is kind of ironic in light of PoW's motto: "Ich Dien" - I Serve. Camilla's mistake implied that God will serve the ship. :o

PoW's captain no doubt had no idea how high he was getting promoted then. ;)

Upon closer inspection it appears to be mainly Sea Kings (now retired from RN use) and a couple of Lynx/Wildcats at the front, with some Apaches on deck as well.

I watched the 2014 QE naming ceremony again recently and saw they began flooding up Rosyth dock 1 almost immediately after the ceremony ended. Anyone know if history has repeated itself yet? A recent interview by the Commodore of HMNB Portsmouth said QE would only be in Portsmouth for 2 months....

It'll be a while still before PoW is floated out. They are working to a refined, different schedule. I think they said the month for her undocking, but i really can't remember what it was. Later this year, anyway.

As for QE, they always said she'd be in port for some 6 weeks, then out again for acceptance trials. Plenty more to test before she can be accepted by the Royal Navy at the end of the year (or early in the next).
Saw some photos on Facebook, and the missing displays on the islands seem to be going up, in the meanwhile. There is quite a bit of kit still to be fitted before October next year (F-35 trials near the US coast).
You might also know me as Liger30, from that great forum than MP.net was.

I watched a video the other day that suggested floatout would be early next year, but I'd be damned if I can find it again. I'll post it if I can find it

Spoke to a very helpful BAE guy at DSEI yesterday, he is normally based at their Portsmouth office and his window overlooks the Princess Royal jetty so he has a very good view of QE. The chap confirmed that QE will be sailing mid October for further trials before returning to Portsmouth to receive more kit. He stated that the bits that go bang, Phalanx etc will be fitted at Portsmouth in March.....
