Cheers skb ,I might have got it wrong then ,I thought someone had filmed onboard again already and it was going to be shown sometime , didn't think it was a third series of Britains biggest warship tho , thought it was going to be on another channel ,ah well I must be mistaken fella

I’m pretty sure I’d read that Chris Terrill was hoping to be on board for her first full deployment in 2021.

No idea if it’s happening but very much hope it is. Would also hope given the length of the deployment they could turn it into say 8 or 10 episodes of 45 to 60 mins each.

Even if one of the main terrestrial channels couldn’t commit to that I’m sure Amazon or Netflix would jump at it. Something along the lines of Sailor but brought up to date in the way of one of the excellent sports fly on the wall documentaries.

Well we can all dream :)

I can say that PWLS deployed yesterday....2020! I would post the video but it's on FB and since my work laptop got returned last Sept I've no idea where it is stored.

Apologies all, I was bored and had been drinking cider! Nipper pings me every anniversary of his RN life so far as he has little else to do whilst in his flat. 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off. He will be back on ship tomorrow so will see how things are shaping up for spring movement.

Philly,
No need to apologise. Your earlier post was quite succinct. I did read it twice in case my “scanning” was faulty. I diid wonder if wishful thinking might get the better of anyone though! :D

Indeed, nipper popped round to say hi to his 10yr old brother and 15yr old sister, who miss him immensely, earlier today...and drink my Cider socially distanced in the garden and yes he had been Covid tested once leaving ship. Also expect a cold move of PWLS once QNLZ has shifted her grumpy cat arse. 8-)

I've just checked today's QHM Portsmouth page, QE departure is still there for 13:00.

Lots of movements from the Tugs on marine traffic around her so guess it was an incorrect email for tomorrow.

QE has her six usual tugs around her right now. I can also see that QE's medium range (Type 997) radar is spinning around above her aft island.
Interestingly, Marine Traffic has renamed QE as HMS Dragon !

13:03 - QE is definitely moving off the jetty now.
13:15 - Tugs are winding QE clockwise to bows south. Lots of PoW's company are up on her flightdeck to watch.

Image
13:22 - QE has turned about 180 degrees and is bows south now, is alongside PoW!

Image
Image
13:25 - QE has passed PoW, and is passing South Railway Jetty, HMS Warrior and Gunwharf Quays.

Image
Image
13:30 - QE passes Round Tower, then Victoria Pier and proceeds out into the Solent.

More than a little surprising!

A catapult rated to 25,000kg could launch a Rafale M at max takeoff weight. Also curious references to "crewed and un-crewed air vehicles."

Plenty of rampant speculation on Twitter about this. Will be interesting to see if there are any further clues in the IR.

Obviously, the catapult is needed to launch the 470 double decker buses (each loaded with 80 Royal Marine Commandos) ashore....
