Got to say the RN Photographers are absolutely knocking it out of the park at the moment...fantastic picture.
As much as we'd all like to see it, I'm afraid given the state of the MoD's equipment plan, and the amount of time that the V-22 has left in production, I suspect we'll never see a UK one. But you never know we might see other tilt rotors in due course...

Low tide forecast for 13:08.

Tug Hopetoun is still with PoW on AIS. Her destination is showing as "GROUNDHOG DAY". ;)

It is traditional for the ship's navigator to get a bottle of champagne if he can get the ship's bridge directly under the rail bridge as a train passes overhead when leaving the Forth.

At 0147 on Sunday its unlikely there will be any trains running, so you can rule out that time as a possibility.

Somethings are important.

Just had a look at the Forth Bridges webcam, PoW is still anchored at 11:00. Hasn't passed the bridges. (far left side of image).

14:57 - Tugs Hopetoun and Kittiwake, presumably with PoW are north of Edinburgh, are heading west at 10 knots, about 5nm SW of Kirkcaldy.
15:07 - Kittiwake now heading NW at 11 kts, while Hopetoun is continuing west along the deep water channel at 10.8 kts.
15:15 - Hopetoun & PoW still heading west at 7.6kts in deepwater channel. I think they're going straight to sea.
15:27 - Hopetoun has stopped, then turned back west. PoW now on her own?

YouTube navalist Drachinifel shares some slides from his visits to both carriers during this stream, starting around 10:24 in case the timestamp feature bugs out.

Perhaps the Albion class replacement LPH/LHD should be based on the QEC propulsion and hull form (but without the sponsons).
