Its exactly 5 years to the day today (9th September) since PoW began assembly in Rosyth's Dock 1 on 9th September 2014.

Pymes75 (Gabriele) compiled a table of events of both ships assemblies. http://www.pymes75.plus.com/military/cvf_build.htm

A nicely edited compilation of PoW's assembly and float-out videos.

I've been told that it was more likely to be the 18th, but the situation is 'fluid' to say the least! 8-)

haha, it certainly is! I was told it will not be the 13th, but as I said it seems to fluctuate between a few dates and changes from day to day. 8-)

Well we are almost there, 2 carriers at sea at the same time. Can still remember talking about it on MP photos before the first steel was cut

I wonder whether R09 will prove faster than R08 whilst on her Sea Trials? :D

PoW has a 29.2 knot target to beat, achieved by QE on 15th August 2017, south of the Isle of Wight.

Maybe a Photex in the channel when QNLZ returns from Westlant19, overflown by a flypast of 617Sqn F-35 :-)

More likely I would have thought they would both be along in Portsmouth for the Christmas, New Year period..

Well I know that PWLS is supposed to be alongside for December, and I'm pretty sure QNLZ is due back by then. I'm definitely going to get a harbour tour when they are both in.

Local radio news is confirming that PWLS will be in Pompey at some point in December, quoting RN announcement but nothing that I've seen so far.

Do you have a screenshot or anything of that speed record? The highest I have stored is 28.6 knots. Would be good to have the top one.

Steven B first reported it on the very day, 15th August 2017 (see page 229)

Smokey also captured it - with speed data - and posted it on 18th August 2017 (see page 237)

Well I have it on good authority that one of the modifications to PWLS was to secretly build opening ports to allow all AB's on board to deploy oars to assist in beating this speed! Unfortunately they couldn't afford a magnetohydrodynamic drive
