I got a prediction: When QE comes back from Westlant 19, PoW might be out in the English Channel to meet her. Great photo op, with two carriers at sea together!

I suppose we will have to wait for WESTLANT ‘20 for there to be any Merlins from 849 NAS on board!

Not that I can remember, the Falklands was for show of force I guess. I was there as a nipper with my grandad and brother on the hotwalls to wave them off, and back.

Navy Lookout article about Westlant19
https://www.savetheroyalnavy.org/hms-qu ... irst-time/

According to the article, the UK F-35B's aren't going over with QE, they're flying over seperately with Voyager tankers to the US in October.... :wtf:

If she isn't taking her F35's with her maybe she may be spend a little time around the UK before she goes, and maybe we may see her with her sister sooner than we think?

With the Merlin onboard, strictly speaking yes. Someone did speculate that she was getting some additional stores loaded off Cornwall to pass to the Bay Class there.

But in reality...she's going to be thousands of miles away from the action. We don't know exactly what Westlant 19 will consist of, but she did her warm water trials in Westland 18 so I suspect she won't be near Mayport and the Caribbean, the focus will be on F-35B trials off the east coast. If we need to get additional help to the Caribbean it would be better to send via C-17 and A-400, whole lot cheaper and quicker too.

Not if she's still off the coast of Cornwall.
