My simulation of QE in Gibraltar

The crew will get a good view of the fiberglass replacements on the top of signal tower, Unless they have dredged the berth she will have to moor on the south mole as Hermes was the deepest draught carrier to go alongside the berth. The C.O.B.A.R. Ark royal used the south mole or anchor in the bay

At the Paxtulent Marine Corps Auxiliary landing field in Bogue N.C the F35b has been undergoing landings on sloped surfaces , as viewed on utube , abilities likely needed for ship borne operations these trials are continuing through January to February

The crew are also taking delivery of one of the most important things on the ship ahead of their departure..

That was for the senior rates mess, hopefully there will be deliveries for the junior ranks and of course the officers.

just a hypothetical question folks ,does anybody ever think the usn would ever operate one of the qe class in times of crises ie borrow it from the rn with no rn personel onboard ,I know this has happened years ago the us borrowed a carrier but could it happen again ?.I know the US has lots of carriers ,lpd etc but was thinking more the usmc operating one for bigger punch in crises mode .thanks

If you’re thinking of HMS Victorious aka “USS Robin” it was never operated by a US crew, the crew were the RN crew simply wearing US uniforms.

It’s impossible to say never about anything, but my uninformed opinion would be no, just the technical problems of suddenly having to crew a completely different design with nothing in common with their training would make it almost impossible. Even worse if they would be expected to crew that unknown ship under battle conditions.

It would be more likely that a R.N carrier would take over patrols of a U.S.N carrier so that carrier may go to other areas of need

Any bets of her departure date and time this week for her SAT(Rotary Wing) Wednesday 31st 1053 looks a decent high tide. Although the weather looks a bit iffy!
Her AIS has been switched on and off a few times recently. Wonder if she will have it on again when she sails now that she is commissioned as she isn't operational?
