I'm also a litle miffed that the UK sold off the Harriers, could have jumped right in untill transitioning to F35 such a shame and lost opportunity.

I saw a Tuesday comment on there too. From the mother of a sailor on board. You can get some good information on FB though some of the "less informed" comments are pretty cringeworthy

I'm hearing rumours about damage to the drive shafts and a need to go to dry dock in Rotterdam. Normally I wouldn't pay any attention to low level Matelot gossip, but...

just speculating here... could there have been more damage than we've been told by whatever it is that she collected?

The 'story' I was told this week is that due to the fact the propellers had to fitted by divers, there was some problem that wasn't picked up until she was travelling at 20+ kts. This caused damage to the drive shafts which will require dry docking to fix.

Normally I don't believe rumours like this, told to me by a Matelot (with no involvement in the programme) during a cigarette break. I'll leave others to decide whether this is truth, half truth or just nonsense.

Hope not going to be as much problems as was with the French carrier c de g ( propellers ) and how long time that took to rectify .like you said hopefully just roomer's and if worst case at least they have time too fix hmspow before she enters the water even if HMS qe knocked back few MTS before testing again .its a 50yr program so snags are going too happen its no biggy .

Her shafts do look very long, hence the requirement for double shaft supports, with all the crap in the sea, and the fact a shaft become fouled so early in her sea trial, maybe a long term fix of some kind of guard may be required? Hope this doesn't turn into a long delay as the press are going to love it.
