As well as the lighter patches due to thermal paint there seems to be areas looking a bit rusty.

Is that a cherry picker in the rearmost hanger opening?

Yes. Jerry Purvis' (Forth Pilot) earlier tweet was taken from it!

The two drone .mp4 videos are especially good close up footage. Many angles that were not chosen to be made into stills. Thanks for the link.

Would be cool to see a T45 a long side of here during trails.

My usual long range shots, however I think they give a certain perspective to her size.

Thanks CJ, lovely shot as QNLZ majestically passed PWLS and their islands aligned.

Some great footage, the drone shots are great.

I have to say of all the great photos and footage, CJs shots brought the biggest smile of the day...thinking back to the earliest shots of the blocks arriving and now the ship in all its glory! A really nice way to book-end the build. Cracking job, CJ

On the comments on the state of the deck, accepting the different shade for the areas with the thermal coating applied, I would be suprised is there's not more finishing work to be done after the trials. On some of the drone footage the areas of rust are quite apparent, particularly by the aft lift. Regardless, she does look amazing.

I showed the footage to my daughter said, 'why is it called 'ROB'? :D

Thank you for the kind comments folks, the truth of the matter for those that don't know... I don't have to leave the house to take these pictures. I just need to be off work lol.

What time does it get really pitch-black dark up there CJ? The Rosyth Dockyard webcam (for the bridges) is currently focused on QE in the Forth.

No sunset pics i'm afraid she's currently out of sight, at the moment it's pitch black between 23:00 and 03:25.

The secret's up. She's actually a fully autonomous ship controlled by ROB The Robot.

The R doesn't stand for anything - it was just the letter allocated to aircraft carriers when the RN rationalised its pennant system in 1948. Most of NATO have since adopted the system but the Americans use their own Hull Classification system (CVN-77 etc).
