Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion
Again: Why not put some Chinhooks and Apaches as well? At least for the photo-op.
Fortune favors brave sir, said Carrot cheerfully.
What's her position about heavily armed, well prepared and overmanned armies?
Oh, noone's ever heard of Fortune favoring them, sir.
According to General Tacticus, it's because they favor themselves…

They'd need to be in the country for that. As far as I'm aware there are no V-22 in Europe. There are USAF MV-22 at Mildenhall but they won't get involved.inch wrote:,I'm still waiting for the suprise they said a few days back , maybe it's going to be a few USMC mv22 osprey ( that's just my hope lol)
Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion
Ah well put paid to that idea then ,was hoping lol.aye Chinooks or Apache be cool but I'm not expecting them on this deployment but you never know ,crowsnest possible but just thought not ready yet till next year but who knows?
Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion
Because aircraft that aren't involved in the exercise won't get involved as it's a waste of time. The MoD doesn't revolve around spotter circle jerks.abc123 wrote:Again: Why not put some Chinhooks and Apaches as well? At least for the photo-op.

POW is due out soon and think it was said that when she was out she be doing helicopter trials maybe working with Chinook and Apache as the FAA will be close to maxed out with wildcats and Merlin's attached to the CSG and the LRS plus on Argus on AP-N so maybe a outside chance of a photo of QE in strike carrier and POW in LPH togethertopman wrote:Because aircraft that aren't involved in the exercise won't get involved as it's a waste of time. Below decks there are things that make a lot of noise....
Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion
Would still like to know the purpose of the broken line located midway between no.3 and no.4 spots.

A wild guess but is it seperating the normal 'launch' and 'recovery areas'? Would that make sense?SKB wrote:Would still like to know the purpose of the broken line located midway between no.3 and no.4 spots.

You seem to be forgetting the obligitary photo ops with ships and/or aircraft lining up in pretty patterns for the taxpayers delight. The RAF in particular. Very PR conscious.topman wrote:Because aircraft that aren't involved in the exercise won't get involved as it's a waste of time. Looks like they've been running 2 figures in the releases as it was supposed to be 15. Must have been a delay to one F-35B joining QE yesterday as it has now arrived.Ron5 wrote:This is the caption to the MoD photos but the MoD press release says 14:

Good news and nice video. Does anyone know the function of the person standing nearly at the bottom of the ramp just to the side of the "runway"? I've noticed someone there a couple of times now and it just looks like an accident waiting to happen.Timmymagic wrote:Looks like they've been running 2 figures in the releases as it was supposed to be 15. 14 or 15 F35b! If they don’t know where Australia is, it comes as no surprise that they can’t count either.
Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion
Well I guess that this should put an end to the rumour that the F35B does not like rain.
