Can't see this mentioned anywhere:

Are there still ongoing problems?

As I recall from speaking to people, that report was based on someone seeing it being towed and going OMG MUST BE BROKEN, not knowing that every ship there gets tugs as mandated ruling.

And then tabloids attaching an "unnamed source".

So yeah, tabloid crap.

Ah OK. Just thought you might expect the local Plymouth/Portsmouth rags to be a bit better informed. I know it's still the print press but with some local knowledge/contacts you might have thought.

They gave a response:

An "empty" VLS magazine would be a good place to conduct such a test, given the open space, which explains the third image being in the hangar.

Now the question I have is: how much growth margin is going to be absorbed by PIP?

So she replaced the WR21 cores. Only 5 years after commissioning?

The cores would have been refurbished as part of the support contract with R.R. This allows the turbines this is more efficient than refitting turbines on board. Modern gas turbines are hours life cycled. Unlike the original gas units that fitted in the type 81s which were more akin to the steam unit in construction. The type 45 were designed for ease of removal of the WR21 cores without removing equipment or cutting holes in the hull.

Perhaps, finally, a reason to watch Channel 5 ?!

The series will be 4x 1 hour long episodes, made by Artlab Films, with Mark Tattersall as executive producer.

In coming years, the Complex Weapons Programme plans to deliver:
...
A midlife refresh programme for Aster missiles, a medium range air defence capability for Type 45 Destroyers

So ASTER15/30 will be modified? Or just overhaul. I "hope" to see 24 CAMM added (independent silo), and ASTER15 deleted, but I agree not going to happen. Also, no mention of Harpoon replacements.

90%+ that it's just keeping it all going, and not actually anything physically different. (Which is important, yes, but still.)

I agree it is unlikely to happen but as said before if CAMM was quad packed into 8 A50 cells this could give Type 45 32 CAMM and say 20 Aster 15 and 20 Aster 30 for a load out of 72 missiles to cover from 1 km to 120 km. also as said if they had the extra 8 cells fitted they could go for 64 CAMM and 40 Aster 30 giving a load out of 104 missiles
