Painting T31 in camouflage makes more sense. Or River B2. They need (visual) stealth.

But may be the color in Persian gulf, Caribbean Ocean, and Med, will differ from what is needed in North Atlantic, on which place T31 is not likely to be use intensively. :D

How about starting with HMS Forth in far south?

In issuing this PIN, the MOD is not committing to carry out any procurement in relation to the strategy stated in this PIN. The MOD reserves the right to alter the approach to this project prior to commencing any formal procurement. Any related future procurement activity will be subject to the DSPCR 2011. Equally, non-participation in this Market Engagement will not be taken into account in any future procurement activities and will not preclude any organisation from submitting a tender in any future competition.

RichardIC, interesting, especially with this bit.
II.6)
Scheduled date for start of award procedures and duration of the contract
Scheduled date for start of award procedures: 31.10.2022
Not duration, but the start date is late 2022. Is that confirmation that the B1 Rivers may be around for a while?

Sounds like it...a couple of years after 2022 at least...

Thanks. A 12 m "large bus" size of accommodation on top of the screw vibration may not be so "comfortable" I'm afraid. May be just for a few days? :D

Interesting that they now seem to be using the phrase "Overseas patrol ships" on a regular basis now.

Well they are part of the Overseas Patrol Squadron - though by looking at the RN page this is limited to the UK EEZ.

Would be good to get confirmation that HMS Tamar will be based out of Gibraltar. A lot of noise at the time they were ordered, but still think they will give good comparative value for money.

Adding a smallish (9-10m class) LCVP onboard HMS Forth will enable some kind of buggy or ATV to be landed in isolated land or islands?

See 34-30, 34-17, and 30 series LCVPs in this page. (I'm also interested in BAE RTK SeaKeeper 709, but have no info...).

Off topic, but agree are interesting and a smaller landing craft would fit in with the Future Commando Force operating Robot Tanks As trialed in Commando Warrior 2019.

The River-class Batch 2 offshore patrol vessel (OPV) HMS Trent has been commissioned with the Royal Navy today during a ceremony at Portsmouth Naval Base.

HMS Trent is the third of five River-class Batch 2 OPV on order for the Royal Navy. She was launched in March 2018. All vessels of the Batch 2 were built by BAE Systems in Glasgow.

Joining Sea Guardian operation to begin with, hopefully based out of Gibraltar, but understand the silence due to the politics with Spain.

Nice photo of HMS Medway. From "".

Size comparison of Merlin and her flight deck is interesting. Looks like, landing is OK if the water is relatively calm (not saying its easy... )

Do the B2 Rivers have any landing aids like those on our escorts, to catch the helicopter as it touches down, like the Bear Trap system?

Is has a grid for the harpoons. But not like Bear Trap, which is an active winching system.
