Re: Airbus A330 Voyager (MRTT) (RAF)

About KC-330 for Brazil: "The RN Officer, in a very relaxed way, started his answer with a question: "Do you have spies everywhere?" and continued saying yes, that he hopes so, that the FAB intends to acquire two aircraft and that they are in negotiations, but there is nothing certai...

Re: Ajax Armoured Vehicles (British Army)

Imagine if the WCSP is reborn to provide a replacement for Ajax rather than an IFV!! :D Imagine the Army leadership and MoD admitting they made a mistake in cancelling WCSP. Oh look, a flying pig :D Or any mistake at all. Especially if the persons who did actually make a mistake actually admit that...

Re: Type 26 Frigate (City Class) (RN) [News Only]

Shame they cant afford C.E.C I thought that the RN doesn't really believe in that? This is what c.e.c is about it provides information from dispersed sensors that can be collated carrier for instance the carrier escorts that are situated further from the carrier could provide real-time information ...

Yet the Dutch are replacing their Goalkeepers with a combination of RAM launchers and Dart munitions for their OTO 76mm. Most nations in fact seem to be either replacing or supplementing their 20mm and 30mm CIWS with weapons like RAM. We do have Sea Ceptor that can to a very could job against swarm...

I think that the RN will never get these LSGs. Just an empty talk. If they wanted that to happen, they would allready done something tangible about that.

Re: RN anti-ship missiles

Giving the I-SSGW a land attack capability should be seen as a nice to have rather than a essential capability. Because we've fired an SSM from an escort at a ship never. It would have been a nice option against a land target in the Falklands, Gulf 1 & 2, Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Libya, Syria. Oh ...

This withdrawal was a disaster. So much disorganisation and chaos wasn't seen from fall of Saigon. Nazi Germany in late April 1945 wasn't this disorganised.

Re: Sandown Class Minehunter (RN)

I think that a RNs decision to fully transfer to autonomous MCM is a bit premature. I also felt the same, but on what point is not clear (for myself). So, I tried to break them down to items: 1: autonomous MCM system itself - it is extensively tested in both France and UK (makes it look slowly movi...

I would rather accept 12, but with 4 ASMs instead of 12 additional CAMMs and torpedo launchers instead of additional 8.

Yes, by the end of 2031.

No known plans for motherships for autonomous replacements.

I think that a RNs decision to fully transfer to autonomous MCM is a bit premature.

Re: River Class (OPV) (RN)

I agree with ABC123, keep all the Rivers for EEZ protection, Falklands and Gibraltar and come up with an alternative solution for vessels to be forward based in Singapore. That’s ultimately what will happen with the T31s. But agree all of this could have been prevented if a B3 was built for the las...

Re: River Class (OPV) (RN)

I wonder, with just 8 Rivers, why not just use them for their original purpose? So, 4 for fisheries/imigration patrol around the UK, and another 4 for FIGS and WIGS, and thats it? No complications, no problems.

HMS Forth visited South Georgia this April.

None of the River class OPV ever visited Pitcairn. T23 frigate Montrose visited the island on Jan 2019.
Thanks.
