Re: Type 45 Destroyer (Daring Class) (RN) [News Only]
MBDA UK has been awarded an 11-year contract to integrate the Common Anti-Air Modular Missile, often referred to as Sea Ceptor, into the Type 45 destroyers’ Sea Viper weapon systems. In addition to this, a 10-year contract with Eurosam will provide a refresh of the Aster 30 missiles that are current...

Could be a variant of T31 as that's being looked at to some degree. Speaking to the Defence Commitee, Babcock CEO David Lockwood said:
"As a variant of Type 31, there are Type 32 concepts to operate exactly as motherships, particularly for autonomous mine hunting."

Gearbox Issues? There was much speculation on here as to what the black patches on the side of HMS Glasgow were when it was wheeled out, with thoughts they were acoustic tiles or a flank array. After watching yesterdays defence committee hearing they might just be covers over the holes necessary to...

The U.S. Naval Air Traffic Management Systems Program Office completed Precision Approach and Landing System certification on HMS Queen Elizabeth in March, the system is a "US owned asset" apparently.

Socially distanced beer with neighbour last night (across the garden fence- BrewDog of course). Batch 2 T26 WILL NOT be built on Clyde if a second referendum goes ahead. Moves to use Appledore for blocks and CL for weld-up and finish. Do you think that will be a condition of allowing a Indyref 2 th...

If I am wrong about the 70 I'll hold my hands up and eat some humble pie, but I wouldn't be too shock if around 70 is the max figure. The QEs are similar in size to the US kitty hawk which was able to operate up to 90 aircraft at max Iv read, now with the growth in aircraft size 70 seems do able. T...

Posts like this should be banished down into the fantasy thread hell hole. QE is designed to operate up to 36 F35b and 4 Merlin. Studies have shown that 36 F35b flying cyclic ops would not also allow deck space for 9 Merlin flying ASW ops at the same time. There might be the space to store 9 Merlin...
