Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion

There's talk now on UKDJ of her docking down in Amsterdam rather than a trip north to Rosyth. UKDJ need to be more careful about the stories they post on more than one occasion things have had to be corrected and even apologised for. She may be going to Amsterdam but I'd like to see the paper work ...

Just listening to the Defence Select Committee session on the National Shipbuilding Strategy: https://www.parliamentlive.tv/Event/Index/e7ec74a4-23ec-4a76-86c8-12ab44b04d71 Couple of nuggets which aren't so relevant for this thread, though Francois mentions that BAE have now set IOC for Type 26 as ...

Re: Current & Future Escorts - General Discussion

adding any ASW capability is not attractive for me. Several SeaGuarding UAVs (ASW) will be much efficient. I can't understand (under what circumstances) you make that parallel? Its based on how to use "the same money" to achieve ASW capability (and man-power is mostly sent to RAF) :D Anyw...

I've been told BAE has submitted a planning application to drain the wet basin at their Govan shipyard in order to construct a covered build hall. It is hoped ...
