Re: Current & Future Escorts - General Discussion
While keeping continuity of build makes sense and should be done, future orders I don’t see being in addition to what we have it will replace them. With statements already made that these ships will be more available than what’s gone before I don’t think the “tier1/c1” will be any more than around 8...

Re: Current & Future Escorts - General Discussion
I think it’s reasonable to assume what they want these “tier 2” vessels to be fwd deployed vessels that can either command or be able to be part of multinational task groups that conduct peace support, maritime security and choke point escort style operations. The T31 is perfectly suited to do that...

I assume why the RN is replacing aster 15 with camm fleet wide and only retaining aster 30. If indeed these were engaged with missiles

Re: Current & Future Escorts - General Discussion
…at this stage, no additional money is allocated… Which raises the question; do RN actually have a requirement for a upper Tier 2 Frigate? If so, what for? Is the requirement actually for 5x Patrol Frigates to replace the RB2’s and 5x LRG escorts? If so that can be achieved in a number of ways. If ...

Re: Current & Future Escorts - General Discussion
I agree the NZ upgrade and FDI are are good ship but as said on the world stage they are clearly tier 2 ships you may well wish to put T-31 into a new bracket but we will have to wait and see what we get before making a judgement Also lets not over egg the FDI's 4 fixed panel radar it a good mid le...

Re: F-35B Lightning (RAF & RN)
With third F-35B squadron currently lacking 400 millions in budget, it is really hard to see how anyone could hope for RAF to get one or more F-35A squadrons. I don't think this is realistic to happen, and even if there are some money for it, IMO it would be better to spend it on fourth F-35B squad...

Because Lockheed Martin aren’t involved n tempest. Here's an idea for Lockheed, get your software sorted out and integrate our weapons in a timely manner and you might have a leg to stand on. 11 years for meteor is still unacceptable (and that doesn't include the added time to retrofit and update o...

This is just stupid, firstly there's no money, secondly there's a desperate requirement to fill up carriers in a time of war and thirdly it would fook up Tempest... Re: Current & Future Escorts - General Discussion
I am confused by your reply. Probabley my fault for explaining badly as usual. In short I am suggesting the maximisation of the T26 hull with the expanded dimensions that the Hunter program has unlocked. The big unknown is how many VLS cells RN actually require on the T83. How many Strike length Mk...

Re: Current & Future Escorts - General Discussion
For example taking the basic 64x strike cell plus 24x CAMM VLS based on the T26B2, four such T83 escorting the CSG could contain: • 64x FCASW • 192x Aster 30 • 192x CAMM • 96x CAMM ER/MR • 64x NSM • 4x Sampson Mk2 • 4x 2087 These numbers are so outlandish why would RN need more? Especially consider...
