Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion
Its getting really tiresome seeing pictures of these carriers at sea with everything on the flight deck except the one bloody thing they were built to carry. ..are they wrapping these F35's up in cotton wool with a 'Break glass in case of emergency' deployment rule or something. Not worth letting t...

Re: F-35B Lightning (RAF & RN)
Can't deploy a Sqn for long if there are no spares to fix the fukkers.
You can have as many Sqns as you like, but without the spares it's meaningless.

Re: F-35B Lightning (RAF & RN)
You anoraks get so het up about Sqn numbers or numbers of airframes per Sqn....
The real metric is how many spares have been bought. That drives everything!

Re: Technical Support - Post here if you're having technical issues with the forum
There seems to be a new problem with non-UKDF members now having full access to all sections and all threads, where previously only the main equipment threads were accessible. This wasn't intentional so I've fixed it. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. Also fixed issues with the forum not kee...

None so far. Quite a few to choose from...FGR, FG or in FAA parlance FA. Been a trend recently e.g. C-17 or C-130J (even though its actually the C4 or C5). Then Reaper gets RG.1....someone needs to get a grip of it. I just hope it isn't the RAF and FAA failing to agree on what the designation shoul...

Anyone seen what the rental element of the future housing model? I've seen for homeowners it's £125, but for the rental info seems harder to come by. Just says things like band c or similar, anyone know why any figures for the pilot sites? Go to Witterings sharepoint site, load of stuff about it th...

Re: UKDF Forum Update 18/11/21
WTF? With respect, I hate this new look, I truly despise and reject it. The page area, for me, is now much narrower with less room for detailed photographs, which for a forum that encourages photographs of equipment, personnel and locations, is a retrograde step and is also awful for people with po...

Re: Boeing P-8A Poseidon (MRA Mk.1) (RAF)
While a long way down the priority list I don't doubt it would be a very useful option to have. Certainly we once had that option as a requirement because the Nimrod MRA4s were to be equipped with Storm Shadow. No they weren't. BAE bunged a few on a demonstrator to show a possibility. It was never ...
