I think it would be a part of any negotiation of the Scottish nation leaving the uk, eg keeps our nukes in scotland until the T26 has been completed for example

Seems to me its a because all the UK gov's that get in office flip flop between decisions then cancel or amend & do U turns .... Is their cross party support that could put the military buying plans into law that if the Gov's change, that force the nxt gov's to fund the decisions & not flip ...

If you want the T31 for NGFS with a 127mm would that mean going closer inshore risking a lightly armed patrol frigate & her crew, Not sure if that was in the remit....
