I think it would be a part of any negotiation of the Scottish nation leaving the uk, eg keeps our nukes in scotland until the T26 has been completed for example

With both carriers floating around as well the MOD must of found some dosh behind the sofa seriously though it's good to see all the movements & co-operation between nations

I am hoping they are waiting for all the ships & aircraft to come together for a great promo shot !!! i would imagine this will be no easy thing to assemble to get the photos just right :D hopefully with a full deck, im not sure if the F35 are aboard yet ? sure it will be worth the wait :thumbup...

You can bet though if there are no F35 onbaord yet, you can guess the naysayers reaction

The BBC documentary is also something to look forward to, so we can see the CSG working close up
Almost worth paying the licence fee for that alone
Wonder if the strike group will occasionally pop up on the marine traffic web site

Not sure if we really need a long single building to build this ship. Built in two large modules, welded later looks like working well. Anyway, very important moment it is! Beautiful!! :D ref: "https://twitter.com/BAES_Maritime/status/1388455400136118273" https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E0TI0...

Seems to me its a because all the UK gov's that get in office flip flop between decisions then cancel or amend & do U turns .... Is their cross party support that could put the military buying plans into law that if the Gov's change, that force the nxt gov's to fund the decisions & not flip ...

And, I do not think neither land attack nor ASW be a priority for T83. :D A ship very similar to "a fully kitted T45 of 2040s" will be the best solution, I guess. Primary AAW, but with 64-80 cells for long-range SAM (because it is NOT a cruiser), and 36-48 CAMM (for self defense). No need...

The drop in HM2 could it be that they are not counting the couple used as Crowsnest ASaC ?Max Jones wrote:I've been hearing a drop in Merlin numbers from 12 to 10 (lost a couple HM2s). Bit of a shame but the additional 4 F-35Bs seem to balance it out nicely.

If you want the T31 for NGFS with a 127mm would that mean going closer inshore risking a lightly armed patrol frigate & her crew, Not sure if that was in the remit.... If the T31 was a Full fat version then yes, but for now i would just get them in the water for their initial low cost low threat...

I'd hazard an uneducated guess at 8+8.... With 24+0 in 3 years time, right?? We will still be operating with USMC jets beyond 3 years regardless of how many aircraft we have available. Jointly operating both is mutually beneficial and not impacted directly by the number of UK aircraft available. I ...
