Re: Multi Role Vehicle – Protected - MRV(P)

Make an APC variant and put if forward for MRV-P, that would be a great candidate for group 2.

Re: Type 31 General Purpose Frigate [News Only]

I honestly feel as if everyone here is seriously over exaggerating by calling them '4000 tonne rivers' or 'stretched rivers' until we can see what the full requirements are, all we can do is speculate as to what the Type 31s are going to be. Half the requirements we know of are for export markets. T...

From the pdf it states it can be adapted to fit all of the above. I imagine the NH90 is the standard as that is the go to for the majority of countries. This is to be exported after all.

They were actually, but were all built by VT Shipbuilding(now Babcock) and multiple BAE Yards in Scotland.

Re: Type 31 General Purpose Frigate [News Only]

Does anyone else think, as the article states, that it is unrealistic to expect the first T31 to be commissioned by 2023? Award contract 2018; steal cut 2020; laid down 2022. I think 2023 is more than reasonable. We knocked out 6 Type 45 in just 4 years, we could do something similar for Type 31, c...

Re: Type 31 General Purpose Frigate [News Only]

The British want the first of the Type 31 frigates in the water in time to replace the Type 23 frigate HMS Argyll when it is pensioned off in 2023, said a program official who spoke on condition of anonymity.
They will be built in parallel to the type 26. Some good news I guess...

Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion

One problem you seem to be ignoring is that the reason we have manning issues is due to too many redundancies... Because of the budget. We simply can not increase personnel numbers without increasing the budget. Unfortunately no government seems to be interested in doing so. didn't they go on a sma...

Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion

my belief is the RN not only has a budget problem which can be sorted out by the government, but the main problem I can see is long term active member numbers. from my perspective this is of more importance then budget. for this reason alone is why I believe an LHD will get up and not an LPD, the R...

Re: Astute Class Attack Submarine (SSN) (RN)

There was a photo somewhere about how the new hall can take three Astutes, side by side... it is not clear to me how this helps with handling the bigger Dreadnoughts: fatter, longer, or both? The hall appears more than large enough to accommodate what ever the navy's requirement for Dreadnought are...

France with a larger navy than us does not use fixed radar. Italy has the largest Mediterranean Fleet and does not use fixed radars.

China is not a major naval nation nor are they a superpower; they are a regional power slowly emerging as a global power.
