Re: Boeing Poseidon MRA Mk.1 (Maritime Reconnaissance Attack) (RAF)
So does that turn it into a mini JSTARS? It was actually Boeings proposal to replace JSTARS in the US (last I heard the USAF now want to use satellite's). ...together with the possible E-7 buy could give us a ISTAR fleet with a basically common airframe down the line. That has been one of the argum...

In standard trim there shouldn't be any major need to operate overland.
But that goes well out of the window if they get any of Raytheon's Advanced Airborne Sensor (AAS) radar.

I thought the Yanks wanted a design that was already in the water (and proven)? Why the change?

EDIT:
If he gets to 100 does he get a telegram from the Queen?

As has been said before, AW139 or 149 would have been a better option for AAC.
Maybe even NH90 (still probably an option to replace Puma if the bugs get fixed).

Are AgustaWestland (sorry but Leonardo is a silly name) doing anything for Merlin/Puma replacement? Haven't heard anything - or from Airbus... Build a decent number of t26's, some more t45's and make the t31 what it should be... Oh and get some Dave A's to shut the RAF up :D But, May and her useless colleagues have ...

I said before that the Desert Tech MDR (in its early concept guise) could be a good replacement for the SA80, turns out its been modelled on the A1's reliability and build quality

I am still worried the Queen Elizabeth is too naked against hostile action. If you are only having Phalanx as the active means of defence fit four and ideally make two Sea RAM. Other nations and commentators cannot understand our way or thinking and how we think our most valuable surface units shou...
