this is the problem with idealists they have a very narrow view of the world. they are assisted unfortunately by poorly worded legislation and officials at all levels who misuse legislation for their own agendas. EG council officials who used counter terrorism legislation to spy on fly tippers and p...

I would say leave the Garrison and airbase as they are as we haven't the escorts to send the carriers! And F35b is still a very unknown quantity. Agree about Healey and Nott. Healey swore we'd not be operating east of suez again how wrong he was. But Ark Royal was on her last legs. Gannets, Phantoms...

and reduced spec light gp frigate worked really well last time round! We could reduce the spec of the T26 without sacrificing too much quality for the GP role. The T26 will be the world best anti submarine frigate when it enters service. If you are building a ship filled full of ASW gear, acoustic ...

reading through the arguments about not having this or that system on board reminds me very much of the 1970's arguments about its missions and the need for lower capabilities. Coupled with the our allies will provide and we'll use more capable ships to do high end operations. Or we'll never have to...

Bae have tried more than once to exit UK surface shipbuilding. Low margin, feast or famine, agressively unionized, excuse of a business with the world's worst customer. Said customer, the UK goverment twisted their arm to buy up the remnants of Vospers to build the carriers. The Bae board would wee...

there are military-legal draw backs to hospital ships especially in the era of AShM that cannot differentiate between types of vessels. Argus is a very flexible platform it can be used for a variety of roles one being PCRS.

Re: Future Light Frigate
If LMM is available as a bolt on multilauncher like was envisaged with seastreak. If it could be fired from a starstreak Aimer unit on a land LML it could b deployed like Javelin and S15 where by the RA AD Troop and RA on armilla patrol in the optical role.
