Re: Future UK Combat Aircraft (Project Tempest)

Nice article but whenever one is written about Tempest by a UK journalist, you can, without doubt, always pick up on their underlying cynicism that it will ever fly.

Its a boring narrative that needs to change.

Re: RBSL Challenger 3 (Future) Main Battle Tank (British Army)

For Europe the CA3 should be more than adequately mobile. Well, we can argue about the merits, good and bad, of the C3 all day long but one area I'd argue that is unarguable, are the numbers. 148 hulls, of which, probably no more than 100 will ever be combat ready and available at any one time, is ...

Sure, as long as you can look past the antiquated diesel power plant, which will still leave the C3 very much in the slow lane compared to its fellow NATO tanks.

Its getting really tiresome seeing pictures of these carriers at sea with everything on the flight deck except the one bloody thing they were built to carry.

Whether we adopt the Sig weapons or try to develop a UK or partner with other countries for a european weapon will affect the cost and timeline for any programme to replace I'd have thought that the cost is going to have to come way down on the Sig platform for the UK to adopt it. Re: Type 31 Frigate (Inspiration Class) [News Only]

That's not the case with the RN versions. Thats true but they should be armed to the same standard as the vessels they are replacing - the T23GPs. The argument that the T23 class were conceived during the Cold War and the world is a much less dangerous place now does not really stand up to scrutiny...
