Re: German Armed Forces
As I said above, if Germany doesn't want to play a major role militarily within NATO then it cannot expect to play a major pollical role within that organisation. WE are probably gong to see a shift in responsibility to the east anyway with the views and needs of the newer nation being given far mo...

We will get 138. 100 would be optimal with the spare funds channeled in to extra P8 buys.

Re: Type 31 General Purpose Frigate [News Only]
I have sent a PM to both mods, but it seems to have “disappeared” so I’ll say it here. We need more mods, because around a half dozen fantasists and a chronic retweeter have ruined this forum. Which at the start was a worthy successor to MP.Net. The fantasists are emotional, I’ve even tried ignorin...

It seems a lot of random deleting has taken place. I offered my services as a moderator back when the site was young, as a then serving member of the Royal Airforce Regiment. From JTAC, JPR Force Protection, to MERT. However I don’t contribute enough. Some could say that would be the perfect type of...

Re: Warrior Armoured Vehicle Variants (British Army)
Soldiers aren't assets. Assets have value but are ultimately replaceable. Soldiers are not. But Soldiers are seen as Expendable by HMG / MOD as proven by the lack of kit they are afforded High value assets are battle winning assets. If this is the definition then each and every common garden soldie...

No SAM’s will be fitted to eithe CVF, other wise the RN would need to justify the T45 at £1 billion a pop.
There are more pressing need to be met before a discussion on arming CVF.

Sentinel and GR4 with RAPTOR, were the best recce and targeting assets available to the coalition. The USAF, USN adored ISTAR.

Which other Airforce has had to operate in a non permissive environment regarding, what you think the capabilities of AEW are? Syria is very much a hostile area, parts of Iraq have been recently, all ground based threats and over Syria A2A threats. Just because you don’t know of them does t mean it ...

Re: Boeing E-7 Wedgetail (RAF)
Hardly like for like when it's going from 6 to 5...and 6 (even without the maintenance issues) was still below what was needed. Considering two were grounded and hanger queens it seems an improvement. 5 will generate one on station, two at a push 24 hours every day if the U.K. requires it. Also Boe...

No bugger ever puts his head up when on the receiving end of a gympy. The suppression effect of the beaten zone is frightening. If you have ever been in live fire with it in support you respect the fact that there is an ovoid of hell about 5m wide at 300m and increasing by 2 every 100m just in fron...

Re: Section infantry weapons
GPMG all the way, like I’ve said previously it wins contacts.
Winning doesn’t always mean killing the enemy, it means you break contact fall back, re- .org then act.
Or it means it has so much suppression of enemy positions you advance into contact.

Smaller than a River, the QE with its F-35s could sink them all in an afternoon. LOL, the Type 056 a minor part of the Chinese arsenal, the DF-21/26 could sink the QE in less than an afternoon as RN no defence capability against ballistic missiles, just getting silly. T45 might have something to sa...

I find it remarkable that a bit of inter-force banter about a name gets taken so seriously by some. Chill out, poking fun is a forces tradition, after all. Only one person is taking it seriously! Apparently even daring to utter the word ‘Pathfinder’ (ssssh) is enough to be on the receiving end of a...

Ocean has gone, Ch47 will be role specific. Merlin has been trialed with boom recently in an attempt by RM/RN to generate an off the book JPR capability. Which is to there credit as when the RAF got into the game with the same Merlins and were told by DSF that it’s the requisite of SF. Funny how dur...
