Re: Multi Role Vehicle – Protected - MRV(P)
Make an APC variant and put if forward for MRV-P, that would be a great candidate for group 2.

Re: Type 31 General Purpose Frigate [News Only]
I honestly feel as if everyone here is seriously over exaggerating by calling them '4000 tonne rivers' or 'stretched rivers' until we can see what the full requirements are, all we can do is speculate as to what the Type 31s are going to be. Half the requirements we know of are for export markets. T...

Re: Type 31 General Purpose Frigate [News Only]
From the pdf it states it can be adapted to fit all of the above. I imagine the NH90 is the standard as that is the go to for the majority of countries. This is to be exported after all.james k wrote:Will a hangar for a 10 tone Helicopter example NH90, fit a Merlin or limit the Type 31 to Lynx Wildcat?

Re: Type 31 General Purpose Frigate [News Only]
Does anyone else think, as the article states, that it is unrealistic to expect the first T31 to be commissioned by 2023? Award contract 2018; steal cut 2020; laid down 2022. I think 2023 is more than reasonable. We knocked out 6 Type 45 in just 4 years, we could do something similar for Type 31, c...

They will be built in parallel to the type 26. Some good news I guess...The British want the first of the Type 31 frigates in the water in time to replace the Type 23 frigate HMS Argyll when it is pensioned off in 2023, said a program official who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion
One problem you seem to be ignoring is that the reason we have manning issues is due to too many redundancies... Because of the budget. We simply can not increase personnel numbers without increasing the budget. Unfortunately no government seems to be interested in doing so. didn't they go on a sma...

Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion
my belief is the RN not only has a budget problem which can be sorted out by the government, but the main problem I can see is long term active member numbers. from my perspective this is of more importance then budget. for this reason alone is why I believe an LHD will get up and not an LPD, the R...

There was a photo somewhere about how the new hall can take three Astutes, side by side... it is not clear to me how this helps with handling the bigger Dreadnoughts: fatter, longer, or both? The hall appears more than large enough to accommodate what ever the navy's requirement for Dreadnought are...

It is ridiculous to pretend that China cannot project force if it wants to. Sorry but who said they cant project force? Because I didn't, I stated that they are merely a Regional Power. France is considered to be a Regional Power who happen to project power through out Africa and the Middle East. D...

France with a larger navy than us does not use fixed radar. Italy has the largest Mediterranean Fleet and does not use fixed radars.
China is not a major naval nation nor are they a superpower; they are a regional power slowly emerging as a global power.

From French source unverifiable the winner of the MIV program would be the Piranha 5, I can not say more, they will be produced in Wales. Well that's honestly no surprise... P5 was designed for the British Army due to feedback GD received when we tested P4. GD have also unofficially stated that the...
