Re: Future UK Combat Aircraft (Project Tempest)

The problem is the source codes, is it Washington will accept that London has the source codes of the Tempest Anglo-American, or American-British, while this is not the case for the F-35, although the UK is the only first level partner of the program. It's a real problem.

I agree. We rent Ukrainian Antonovs instead of buying C-17s or even C-5s, it's a big mistake, we're dependent of an unstable country and I'm not talking about Russia.

would have done that ( and they know the best, the Freanch are stooopid ), because who needs that damn Harriers and carriers? RAF surely doesn't. I'm not sure we should be taking any lessons from the French on carrier aviation....look at the situation over the last 40-50 years, or hell even over 10...

Re: Mid-term review for the Strategic review?

Our ideas are actually quite close. The three Brigades in 3rd Division will be able to operate across a brad range of conflict intensities from High to low and woul d be able to provide packages that are appropriate. The three Brigades in 1st Division can both supplement 3rd Division or operate on ...

Re: Mid-term review for the Strategic review?

I do not want to be rude but, I do not understand your plannification of purchase of vehicles, for what units and for what use. In France it's pretty clear, the French option for the wheel via our 8x8 VBCI, and the rest via our VAB and AMC10RC replaced by the Griffon, Serval and Jaguar while keeping...

The article in French speaks of a first batch of vehicles being delivered between 2021 and 2023. According to the article, the specialist Nicholas Drummond imagines that they will be heavily armed: a gun of 30mm of the type of the Apache helicopter, mounted on a teleoperated turret and a Javelin ant...

Keeps French industry in the game at the level of high end ATGMs of that sort. Thats as valuable as any in theatre capability. MLP long range ATGM This sounds like a missile that is 10 years too late. It doesn't seem to offer any benefit over Hellfire. Certainly it sounds inferior to JAGM. And from the specs mentioned it 's massively inferior to Brimstone 2. The mid-life renovation of the helicopter Tigre, will improve its...

Unlike the Model F1 gun of the same caliber as the AMX-30, the F2 gun is specifically designed for use on wheeled vehicles under 30 tonnes.
