https://twitter.com/GenAtomics_ASI/status/1556611209058607104?t=WlRbxmNxO9SsHYmLqWLMiA&s=19 Interesting clips of the Mojave drone based on the Predator. 300 feet to take off, 300 feet to land. No mention of payload but makes you wonder, could it use a ski ramp 🤔 Edit..........Just ignore me. Thi...

Such a waste.
Is there no way to convert these to other uses? Caribbean patrol ship for one, free up a Bay from doing it.
Mine warfare mothership for another. 2 fabulous hulls sat there doing SFA.

Just watching a clip on the Warthog we had 110 of them in Afgan I don;t know how many came back but why did we let it go so quickly. Why didn't we order another batch to equip a light Mech Battalion battle group Agreed. Surely they'd have been suitable chassis for Exactor, Starstreak, a heavy morta...

Re: Current & Future Amphibious Capability - General Discussion
Given where things are going maybe the best mix we could go for would be 2 x Enforcer 18000 LHD's 200 x 35 Meters 4 x Enforcer 13000 LPD's 5 x Absalon = Type 32 I can't see a better choice for T32 than the Absalon. The commonality with the T31 & flexibility (of the vehicle/UAV deck) make it a n...

Re: Ground Based Air Defence
Steering away from missiles for a second how accurate ar range is the chain gun on the likes of the Apache? Given the huge increase in drones is it not a future prerequisite to have as many vehicles as possible able to detect & engage UAVs. Something like dedicated guided 50cal or bigger on as m...

Re: Eurofighter Typhoon (RAF)
ECR Typhoons should be a must for the UK. Do we have any retired 2 seaters we can convert? One of the key things for the ECR variant is a wing with different plumbing to allow the tanks to be moved so that the EW payload has decent placement. Can't do that with conversions. And the tanks are needed...

Though those could go "free gratis" to Ukraine along with the T1s I guess.

Re: Boxer / Mechanised Infantry Vehicle (MIV)
Given the disaster the Ukrainian mud appears to have been for Russian wheeled vehicles how do we think a Boxer would handle it ? Well as the vehicle photo'd is at best a 6x6 Lorry chassis and Boxer is an advanced cross country 8x8 we are talking chalk and cheese here. True but I've also seen BTRs a...

Scimitar54 rather than 3 more T45 I'd rather have the T32 project go ahead based on a full fat Iver Huitfeldt airdefence/multi role frigate.

Re: Royal Navy SSK?
Surely a fleet of small SSK makes sense for covering the GIUK gap, Baltic exit point & providing cover for the SSBN fleet in UK waters.
This frees up the limited number of Astutes to range further afield. Getting shot of the Upholders seems to have been an error.

Maybe the Russia situations is focusing minds a little more to fund these capabilities rather than consider them optional. The MOD seems to think because the UK is realistically out of reach from Russian bombers it doesn't need air defense but pretty sure the sub launches TLAM capabilities is a big...

T For me also having a Wave class stationed out of say Singapore would also give our allies something most are lacking and if we are lacking crew for it maybe we provide the ship and a core crew of 20 and rest come from allies. Agreed. Rather than talk of binning of selling a Wave class one should ...

I think I rather see the new 40mm Bofors, as soon to be used on the T31 & as many additional Seaceptor silos as possible wheeled out across the fleet.
40mm on everything from the Rivers up, RN & RFA, same with VLS/Mushroom farms for Ceptor.
