Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion

If it is then it's a change, nipper told me a couple of years ago there were no plans for 30mm on the QE class...but that was before they successfully fired Martlet from them, who knows?

Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion

Not sure about Anchors Aweigh on that first video, better off with Hearts of Oak, or, as it's PWLS, perhaps Those in Peril on the sea? ;)

Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion

Indeed, Monday under the bridges is what I've heard. FOST has been going on whilst at anchor on the Forth, nipper was involved in compartment clearances for fire and flood and was noted for going 'above and beyond'

Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion

Indeed, but she is still missing a 'few bits' which makes nippers job even more redundant. The Phalanx were returned to depot I assume they will be refitted at some point back in her home port. As my boatbuilder lecturer told us on our course, assume, makes an ass out of u and me. 😎 Nipper wasn't s...

According to her AIS she is now in the basin.

Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion

He did ask, but it was not possible.

He says he will also be trained on the ribs so he can go out to the old Type 23, Montrose I think, languishing in the harbour and could potentially get his Powerboat level 2 licence.

Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion

Funny that nipper is due to pass under the bridge on his last trip aboard her, after his first trip was under the same bridge. This picture has all the names of his Warfare group on it when she first left Rosyth...was a father's day present from him just before lockdown, finally got it framed. I th...

The flooding up is going well, possible sailing from Rosyth within the next few days, tide dependant as always.

Maybe out for a weeks sailing before returning to Pompey now, but plans are, 'fluid', I guess.

Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion

It'll make my nippers day if he is talked into helping out as a 'dabber' , though I'm not sure they get involved with below the waterline painting!
