Re: MBDA Brimstone Missile (RAF)
Appears on UK, Germany and KSA are using it. The missile doesn't seem to be selling well with Eurofighter operators, who are perhaps sticking with Maverick missiles? Or none at all? Germany don't use it. They've been thinking of using it for years but have never bit the bullet. Current operators ar...

Finally fit, like the Canadians two double launchers for lightweight Torpedoes, in our case initially Stingray, but later what ever follows on from the Mk54 being purchased for the P-8. When we look back at 2009 it was as good as it was going to get i.e 1 x LPH , 2 x LPD's , 4 x LSD's , Argus and 6 Point class On top of this we had 2 x light carriers , 6 x destroyers , 17 frigates . There were also 2 Fort Class solid stores ships to carry large quantities of ammunition and other s...

Re: F-35B Lightning (RAF & RN)
This earlier article states there were investigations of a dedicated landing spot for the f35b on the French carrier, there is more likely trials of an f35b would include aircraft from the U.S.N marines than the U.K as per the Cavour A dedicated spot would also be useful for CMV-22 as it also gener...

Poland has selected CAMM as the missile for its NAREW air defence system. This will be a big contract, possibly the biggest to date. https://twitter.com/DefenceHQ/status/1461678228964315140 It just keeps racking up sales...sales campaigns are underway elsewhere as well (Finland definitely known abou...

The pilot being safe and sound is the big thing, thank god for that. Lets hope they're scrambling the salvage assets to recover the remains of the aircraft as soon as possible. Hopefully the loss of 1 aircraft does not sour the view on CSG21. Its to be expected occasionally in operations, particular...

Brings to mind: where will Zephyr's value-add be - in satellite -like images (not far off from targeting; perhaps more 'on-line)? - or, in comms linking (satellite orbits & cost of bandwidht)? OR in all of these, while thinking of the weight limit on payloads? Dependent on the model chosen. Zep...

Not clear to me which two of these 3 apply as for the locations: Cyprus? Vegas (as for those flying them)? The garage (one in two disassembled into crates)? Of course, what counts is where circuits can be maintained Don't believe we have any in Cyprus or Creech anymore. They're all run out of Waddi...

Re: General Atomics MQ-9 Reaper/Protector (UCAV) (RAF)
Is there not enough life left in at least some of the Reapers to retain them and operate in addition to Protector? There probably will be. Its worth noting that we've retired 1 Reaper as out of flying hours, this was the first one delivered in 2007, retired in 2019. So 12 year service life. But.......

Think they needed it now to maintain 2 orbits (hence the name of the project, SOLAR, Second Operating Location Alternate Reaper). You can get another MQ-9 off a hot production line, or wait for 5 years for another Protector to arrive.Ron5 wrote:Seems odd. Why not buy one more of the new type?
