Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion
Oxford United fans (and team) have arrived. I wonder if they'll stick around afterwards for QE's departure? Perhaps some of them have never seen the sea before? I've heard Oxford is the most inland place in the whole UK! https://twitter.com/Joee_Dunnee/status/1030767547275202561 https://twitt...

Nice photos, but her bow paintwork looks shocking, a real mess. She's off out on a big date to America and she's got rust all over her 'face'. Her cream undercoat is still showing through (since before her June sailing to Cornwall) low down on the port side near the depth guage markings. Hope they g...

Re: F-35B Lightning II (RN & RAF)
Interesting. Carrier Strike Group Commander, Commodore Andrew Betton says that all the F-35B's are 'owned' by the RAF, but will be flown jointly by the FAA and RAF. This means that the RN don't 'own' any of their F-35B's. And now makes sense why they're all based at RAF Marham, and not shared with R...

Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion
If I read and remember this right (from the F-35B thread), the test F-35's (so-called "Orange Wire" F-35's), with their extra test systems are a US only thing. Thats why QE is going to the US, to trial test F-35's on the QE. The RAF and FAA have the operational version of the F-35, not the...
