Guys, help, I don't get it. Or it may be an AW-189. A bit confused. One thing we can be certain of is it's not the thing Leonardo are trying to sell which is the 149. Leonardo said in one press output that they would be showing a aw189 painted black to demo it as what aw149 would look like as the aw189 is the non-military ver...

https://twitter.com/AeroimagesChris/status/1391220330560069638 From Gabs twitter feed. In the past we have known about 2 at the same time but after 5 there was a bit of a gap, wonder if its was the Cv19 or is that where we split our order? I think the current delivery is to have the last 4 aircraft...

Wasn't HMS Albions deployment to the pacific region in 2018 ? so maybe HMS POW in 23/24 sounds about right or maybe HMS Bulwark? maybe the french could participate with CdeG or a Mistral rather than just one of their submarines A mistral jeanne D,arc is already in India on tour. With CdeG in the gu...

End of the day,the submarine fleet will still need a long range anti surface misslie system, if it roaming around across the world.
So it could be a French or US sub launch system bought in small numbers.

I believe they have achieved IOC and think four are destined for the Far East Cruise. Contractors etc. will be aboard to continue trials and certification work during the cruise. ] Are all 4 up and running or are they going to have to fit a merlin HM2 with the "kit" to turn it into a ASAC...

The fact that an Albion and a modified Bay will be used to try out the Littoral response concept.... A fantastically capable pair. Add a Tide or Wave and a couple of T23's and Littoral Strike is very much a reality. My main query would how 'modified' will the Bay actually become? £50m should achiev...

As Dauntless is still in Liverpool for PIP since March last year, once done needs a year of FOST training to workup.and Daring still being in long term maintenance and training. Duncan in refit. Hopefully I can be educated here but could the Type 26 be used for the Type 32 concept, my thinking is that we already have the design or is the Type 26 not suitable for the mother ship role? I think the T26 is too expensive and on the current delivery dates will not meet the magic 24 ships by end ...

So if the rumours are to believed(big IF),That 4 T23 are to be retired early out of 13 in the new review out this week. This will leave the navy with 8 T26 and 5 T31 ships expected to be ordered . With 9T23's to solder on until 2038 until the last T26's launched and 6 T45's This giving a total of 14...

Interesting discussion starts. https://twitter.com/NavyLookout/status/1323345894301933568 This is what I have been saying for sometime now that the RN needs MHCP to be something like a 100 meter Venari with M-Cube CMS a good Radar , 25 meter covered and open working decks = 50 meters plus a 40mm or...

I understand Navy is using the same canister. We can see the square top panels of the canisters in many photos (e.g. those on HMS Argyll). So, "what are the mushroom caps for?" is the main question. Or, "can it be more compact?". I guess the answer is yes, if someone just pays a...

Was it commented on (at the end of the competition) why the old radome 'style' won over the two AESAs (to match the coverage)? Because this solution was the cheapest option chosen, Thales UK did have AESA antenna produced as a development contact, but MOD Decided not to proceed with it(cost reasons...
