Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion

I have it on very secret confirmation that they cannot do a QE class model, apparently the 2nd of class has larger measurements/displacements (you need to know how much putty to put in the hull when making a model after all) but they are very closely kept to those in the know... :silent: :lolno:

Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion

It was, did know about this but waited for it to go public so apologies for my less than informative posts! My nipper has been doing 2 days of honour guard training for the visit, after a weekend on ship guard duty, and he was a tad knackered. https://twitter.com/HMSPWLS/status/131411247089473...

Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion

Moving on from the political side of things. Is there any serious news on HMPWLS sailing soon? Also can anyone shed a light on whether or not it’s normal she wouldn’t be flying the White Ensign whilst alongside at the moment? I imagine it will be mid to late October when she sails but cannot confir...

Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion

The QNLZ move looks to have been delayed as it's no longer showing on the QHM Daily movements for today. I was going to go down and have a paddle in the water and watch her go out, it's rather warm down here again today, oh well.

Re: Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carriers - News and Discussion

@PhillyJ No.6 spot has nothing to do with SRVL, its not on the landing glide path of the runway - unless the poor pilot wants to be eating the back of the aft island. Apologies, completely mis-read your post and can see how Nbr 6 spot would be tricky to SRVL on! However, what I was lookin...

What makes you say that?
Apart from the fact that my 'nipper' is on board PWLS to improve their capabilites, I've watched him on COD etcetc and he is a great shot. 8-) And we've got 3 CIWS, they haven't.

Interesting to see 'around' 10 are on their way, I see RAF Marham have already put out a notice saying please do not come and try to see them arrive. According to Navylookout 'approx' 6 USMC F35B's from US Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 211 will support the ship’s inaugural deployment in 2021. I note someone forgot to mention that desert boots really are not necessary on our local beaches in Pompey :-)

Looks like AB Derry now owes the Warfare Mess a crate of beer, apparently if you appear on social media, or in any official video/pictures, then that's the rule! I think this is specific to the Warfare dept who seem a bit stranger compared to the rest of the crew. It explains why my nipper (proper n...
