Re: New Medium Helicopter [NMH] - (RAF & AAC)

I'm pretty sure this contract is for Augusta to lose.

It goes beyond just a helicopter contract, but also politics, in keeping Italy sweet on their continuing involvement with Tempest.

Re: Multi-Role Ocean Surveillance Ships

Russia's getting increasingly meddlesome in the high north and as as more ice melts the situation is going to get worse. I really don't think Russia is going to be in any fit state to do much beyond its own borders, once the war in Ukraine is finally done with. The bulk of their most capable, profe...

Hope so, but note no credit or acknowledgement of the UK for correct intelligence on the imminent invasion or the the mission to train and arm Ukraine. Until the EU can acknowledge the UKs strengths and attempt a genuine reconciliation (re Brexit, NIP etc) the continent will be a weaker, less secur...

Disappointing that we think Paveway is our only fast-jet launched anti-ship weapon, would have fancied Storm Shadow to have a crack... I don't think Paveway being used was because there's nothing else but rather it was a very rare chance to try new tactics...launching a Paveway from its outer edge ...

It'll be interesting to see what lifespan it is rated to - the F15EX seems to have a much greater lifespan than anything else All military Jets developed in the Cold War are having lifespans far in excess of what they were expected to be simply because there has been no major peer to peer war, than...

Well, given how poor BAE's Type 31 offering was compared to what we got, I think we should wait to see what others can come up with.

BAE are the proverbial tin of Heinz beans, ridiculously over priced to the better tasting, cheaper competition.. :D

Its not even as if PoW has been pushed hard for the last 18mths and the Engineering Dept have had how long to prepare for this deployment, making sure everything was 100% ready to go? To suffer such a major malfunction within 24hrs of leaving port is a total failure on someone's part. I don't see ho...

To me, this just shows the vulnerability of our wartime supply chain. All I see is a 'all our eggs in one basket' production facility, that in time of a major conflict would be targeted for destruction by all sorts missiles from the enemy. One cruise missile launched from a Russian sub in the North ...

The US didn’t export F22, and unless something radical changes Maybe lessons learned from the F-22 will make them relent and offer up its successor for export, to select allied countries...and there will only be a few that could afford it, anyway. Only producing them in such low volume, with no pro...

Though my main point was that Italy would appear to be getting serious about their role in the programme. Once Tempest goes into the full scale development & production phase, the UK will be doing the heavy lifting when it comes to funding. Something close to £10bn has been earmarked for Tempes...

Its fun to speculate what could be done with a bit of a shift in thinking and what we would need to overcome but lets be under no illusion, we getting 8 type 26's, 5 type 31's and if we are lucky 6 type 83s. And those 6 type 83s will probably be based on a type 26 stretched hull. ..Don't forget the...
