Re: Type 26 Global Combat Ship [News Only]

After the announcement that the 4th River class will be named HMS Tamar, I doubt that they will name a T26 HMS Plymouth. It would of been nice to see another frigate named Plymouth especially with the history of the name and the maritime importance of the city.

The ship with Ocean was Porter. I know it's a terrible quality but this morning I managed to get a picture of USS Porter south of the Plymouth breakwater.

Re: UK's Future T26 Frigate.

Is there a date for when the ships of the class will be named? Is this something that will come out of the national shipbuilding strategy?

Re: Panavia Tornado (RAF)

Anyone know which squadron will disband in 2018 when the first F35 squadron arrives at Marham? If im right the other two squadrons will remain until march 2019 (by that time the two new Typhoon tranche 1 squadrons should of stood up)

Re: Warthog (ATTC) (Army)

How come this information has only come to light within the past couple of days? Do we know if these vehicles be kept in storage for another Afghan (like) conflict?

Re: F-35B Lightning II (RN & RAF)

One of our F-35s might be in the UK this summer, if all goes to plan, for RIAT and Farnborough International Air Show: F-35 to Appear at RIAT, Farnborough The U.S. Marine Corps is planning to send the F-35B to this year’s Royal International Air Tattoo and Farnborough Airshow in the United Kingdom ...

Re: Future 'Lighter' Frigate

Where do you think T31 will be based?
I believe it might be best if all of the 8 T26s are at Plymouth and the 5 T31s based at Portsmouth.

Plymouth has recently had the worst treatment out of the 3 naval bases- subs to the Clyde, Ocean going and the loss of the T22s

Re: UK's Future T26 Frigate.

Okay, so I presume that with only 8 T26, they will all be based in Portsmouth. But what does this mean for Devonport? They will really need to get every single one of the new GP frigates to keep the base viable. Now this information is old however I heard last year the Devonport PM (Oliver Colvile)...

Re: Typhoon

Anyone know when the two new Typhoon squadrons will stand up? I assume its before 2019 (before Tornado OSD) We'll just have to wait... 19 & 111 Sqns would be a nice touch. 1st to operate the Spitfire and Hurricane respectively. but hey, there you go. Yeah I imagine 19 squadron could be a good s...

Re: UK's Future T26 Frigate.

Anyone got the faintest idea about what the new type 26s will be called, it would be great to see a HMS Plymouth. Will we find out in 2016 what all 8 will be called?
