Re: Section infantry weapons

I am curious how one accesses the gas tube and piston rod for stripping and cleaning, now that there's no folding cover on the handguard Yeah, me too, Starting to think you unscrew the entire handguard with the new hex nut located on the body. Again the 416 seems to be where inspiration was drawn ~...

Re: Section infantry weapons

What's on the bottom of the gas block? Could it be an HK416 / m320 style locking pin slot. Maybe the L17's will be getting updated for quick detach as well? And if that is a load of cobblers why leave it exposed? :?: The Combat and Survival article shows the socket it is indeed for the UGL detent p...

Well it looks like there's a completely new gas block at least

Seems to be similar to the L22A2s gas block or even HK416, but different

Any word on how many rounds are held in the AHS on the Warrior and Ajax turrets? IIRC the in-turret configurations that BAE/CTA put forward for various vehicles were 42 - 70 rounds (depending on the design). I wondered if Lockheed moving the new Meggitt-designed AHS/Magazine outside the turret ring,...

One of the best new vehicles we got in years What makes you say that? Re: Brimstone Missile (RAF)

I seem to remember reading that the RAF specifically dropped its requirement and funding for internal carriage of Brimstone (SPEAR 2).
Likely they see internal stowage of Paveway IV (SPEAR 1) and SPEAR 3 (which is the weapon that the information jonas wrote, pertains to) as being more important.

Those battalions are currently equipped with Mastiffs returned from Afghanistan though.
So MIV would be replacing those and whatever remains of Bulldog 2, rather than Saxon which hasn't been used by Mech Inf in years (or "Heavy Protected Mobility Infantry" as they're called nowadays).
